I wish I could
Send you these
Breezes scented
With burnt coal.
I wish I could
Send you the rustling
Of leaves against
The street pole.
I wish I could
Send you the warmth
Parted to me
By this sun.
And could tell him
To be gentle
On this one.
I wish I could
Send you whispers
Of birds hanging
On the line.
I wish I could
Send you the news
Of the ripped vine.
I wish I could
Wrap my hands
Around you,
And plead for
This time to freeze
For me.
