I'm standing at the crime scene
Pondering over what did officers mean
Outside when they let me in
Said they were looking for a win.
I told them not to put their hopes high
Because this might not be the one to turn tides.
Victim lay in a strange position
Bled out and devoid of any motion
At first sight it seems to be a violent homicide
But media will tune this to their like
I asked the officer to brief the victim
Surely she seems to be a part of this system
Unmarried and a part time worker he said
As I leant down to inspect knife's wedge
Back-stabbed she must be unaware
Of what the murderer came to share.
The knife penetrated deep puncturing the heart
A classic murder accessory brought from a nearby mart
Officer added that her records are clean
Also she is bruised by the elbows where blood sheens.
I rolled my eyes across the room
Noticed she was having yesterday's shroom
Which meant she wasn't expecting anyone
A joke swelled up but it wasn't a time to make pun.
Thunder rattled outside shook every window
Forbiding ventures for people of New Meadow.
.....
To be continued.
