I arrived at school the next morning to hear about Vae Morgan going missing, my heart dropped knowing that I couldn't protect the 6th student, I stayed in my car and put my hands on my head, I warned her that she wasn't safe, the only thing is I need to figure out what she was doing in that library on her first day.
I walked into the school grounds, no one talked about it, and no one cared. Something about Vae bothered me, not in a bad way either, something about her intelligence towards this mystery intrigued me. I went into my classroom sat down at my desk and just marked some papers, I looked over to where Vae would sit and hung my head down, I was disappointed in myself.
As my students walked in "Morning, everyone take a seat," I spoke as I stood up, put on my glasses and started to get on with my lesson. After I told everyone what they should be working on, I looked at Vae's seat trying to remember what she had read yesterday, it was an old book but that's all I could think of, and then I started to remember things about the other night where she was attacked, it angered me how I couldn't think why this was happening and what was this curse about Nova High and why or what these students have in common with.
It was the end of my class, I looked to see one of Vae's friends "Miss Kennedy, could you stay for a minute?" I looked up from my desk and placed my glasses down in the case.
"Sure sir," she replied as she stood in front of my desk.
I got up and closed the door before I sat back down on my chair "You've known Vae Morgan right?" I raised my eyebrow.
"I do, why?" she fidgeted nervously.
"I wanted to ask if you're alright with Vae's disappearance and all," I put my hands underneath my chin and rested my head like that as I looked into her eyes.
"I'm upset and confused, see Vae only just moved here and she was the next victim, she's so sweet she shouldn't of," she cut herself as she started to get upset, I stood up and placed a hand on her shoulder "I promise you, I will find her," I spoke sternly towards her, I handed her a tissue, she looked up at me.
"But how? No one in Nova City cares," she blurted out.
"I care but I need you to help me with something," I rested against my desk as I crossed my arms over my chest.
She looked at me "With what?"
"Do you know what Vae found in the library which book was it?" I asked her.
"It was something about the history of Nova High, I saw the pages it was stuff about the students, the missing ones she was interested in it, I guess that's why she got attacked in the library and why she went missing, maybe she was a threat to the thing," she spoke, I watched her moment, her expressions and she was telling the truth, I looked at her.
"Are you interested in knowing the truth?" I asked.
She nodded almost immediately "I want Vae back," she said wiping her eyes with the tissue.
I got back up and glanced to see if anyone was at the door as I saw the coast was clear, I spoke quietly "I'm a secret undercover detective, I'm here in Nova to find out this whole case but I haven't made any progress, Vae knew who I was before she went missing, I am here to find out what happened and to know where Vae is but I need more help if you're willing to help me," I said as I exhaled, as I rubbed the bridge of my nose.
She was surprised at my true identity "Yeah if it helps get Vae back then 100% I'm in," she replied with a smile, I looked at her eyes to see that sparkle again "Good well, I will talk to you again tomorrow if you know anything," I replied as she nodded, she eventually left the classroom.

I walked into my house, put my keys on the table, and locked the door behind me to see my wife in the kitchen, I exhaled and walked over to her "Ronnie, I'm sorry I'm late," I spoke, she turned around and gave me a cold look "Sure you are Javi," she responded sarcastically.
My brows furrowed at the tone of her voice, I leaned back against the counter "What's the problem?" I crossed my arms over my chest.
"You. It's like you're married to work, remember reality check you're married to me," she yelled.
I sighed "Baby, another student went missing and I think it was my fault," I tried to calm the situation but she kept elevating it more blaming me.
She stormed upstairs, and I exhaled and rested my hands on my face. I followed her upstairs "Veronica, why do we always argue about my work? I told you about my job before I proposed to you, I told you when I got transferred what would be happening, this job is serious. Six students have gone missing, I'm here to help so why the fuck do you need to sulk?" I raised my eyebrows, she sighed angrily before she stormed out of the room.
"Veronica we are not teenagers anymore, stop running from the argument if you have something to say just say it or quit your sulking," I raised my voice.
"Unbelievable," she replied.
I followed her "Veronica stop walking away and look at me, lets sit down and speak like adults," I sat on the bed and looked at her, she stopped but didn't sit down. I exhaled knowing this wasn't going to go far "We both aren't happy," I said knowing it was the truth.
"You aren't happy living here and you aren't happy about this relationship. You haven't been for months, don't lie to me and make up an excuse. I tried my best to be this spouse but I can't, I always make time for you but I need to help this case, I can't see another student go missing," I looked at her with sad eyes.
"You're right, I want a divorce," she immediately said, I knew this from the start she wasn't going to last in this relationship, I sighed "Okay, we will get the papers and sign them tomorrow," I replied.
She nodded, I looked at the time to see it was 11 pm, I grabbed my things and went to the guest room and slept there. A bit of me was relieved, I didn't have expectations anymore all I wanted to do was to find Vae and I would.
