I stood watching his dead body, I put the note in my hand "I need you to go home," I said towards Ellie as I pulled out my phone "I thought we were a team?" She exclaimed.

"Look I need to call people to come here, I don't want them to find out that you're here helping me, one because I will get fired for letting you help me with this case," I raised my eyebrow at her.

She nodded as she understood "Look you have my email, just email when you get back home," I said to her as she nodded and left.

I exhaled whilst I looked at the father, I felt like I was letting Vae down if I found her I was going to have to explain to her about her father, I felt sick to the stomach, every time I got closer to a clue-

I turned around as I grabbed a kitchen knife and started to cut into the wall, I started to peal off the wallpaper as I kept scraping through the walls, I continued to scrape off until I found a camera, I smirked "Gotcha," I used the end of the knife and stabbed through the camera lenses smashed them to pieces.

Bastards have been watching my every move.

I put down the knife and called out to forensics officers, I sighed as I rubbed my brow and explained what happened.

Whatever is behind this is making me look foolish, but when I find whatever is doing this I'll make sure they will be dead before their time comes.

Eventually, the forensic team came they patted my shoulder as I nodded, I left the house as I saw the wife dropping her bags and ran to the door, I stopped her and put my hands on her shoulders gently "Mrs Morgan, I'm so sorry your husband was found murdered," she started to cry as she fell onto her knees, I knelt and held her close to me.

She was crying "My little Vae and now my husband," her cries were agony, she grabbed onto me as she cried, and I held her close to me. I looked down at her to see this woman broken, I looked down at her "I promise I'll find your husband's killer and your daughter," I said gently towards her. She nodded but continued to sob, I slowly stood up and helped her up as she clung to my body.

"I'm going to take you to the police station to have some time to yourself, to let it set in okay?" I said to her softly but loudly so she could understand me clearly.

She nodded.

After an hour, I brought her into a room with a female officer so she wasn't alone then I went to my boss's office, and I knocked on the door "Come in," he said. I walked inside "How are you, Perez?" He asked.

"I don't want to do this small talk, look I don't know what to do each time I get to a clue my clue gets killed, look I need Mrs Morgan to have protection on her at all times, I'm afraid that she is next, and I can't risk if I find Vae Morgan that one she has lost her father I cannot forgive myself if she looses her mother too," I explained as I could feel the sweat dripping off my brow.

"I know you have got this Javier, this is why I assigned you to do this job not some lousy officer, I've known you for 20 years now, you have dealt with far worse cases, you have got this," he said as he looked at me.

I nodded "Fine but promise me Mrs Morgan will have people protecting her," I wiped the sweat off my brow.

"I promise she will have someone watching her," he said.

I nodded as I left the station, I searched in my pocket for a cigarette as I lit it up, I inhaled the drag and looked up at the dark sky, rain drops were coming down as I looked at the street lights, I looked to see Mrs Morgan in the office crying, I felt bad for the woman, her daughter going missing then losing her husband if only I just had the brains to figure out this mystery.

My phone vibrated as I looked at the email from Ellie "I think I found something, meet me at the school library," Ellie sent as I walked to my car and started to drive to Nova High.

I parked up and walked to the library, "Ellie," I whispered loudly, I looked around to see her standing at the table, I walked over "What did you find?" I asked her as she showed me the velvet book.

"Is that?" I looked at her with a shocked face.

"The book that Vae was reading.. yeah it is. I found it on my doorstep when I got home and it had a note," she spoke as she handed the book to me.

"What does the note say?" I held the book and looked through the papers.

"Dare to wear the foolish clown face," she said as she handed me the note.

I reread over the note multiple times "It's one big cycle," I said as I put the note in my pocket.

"Sir do you think..?" She stuttered slightly.

"Think what?" I looked at her but then looked back down at the pages.

"Whoever gave me this book, that I'm next?" Ellie said with a nervous hint in her voice.

"You aren't next, whatever it is would've gone for you the same time Vae vanished, and I don't think that figure gave you this book," I expressed.

"Who gave me it?" She asked.

"The person who is trying to help us find Vae, the person who may know the truth," I said.

"But who is that person?" She looked up at me.

"Us,".
