The next day, I came to visit Ellie in the hospital where her parents were in her room, I knocked on the door before being invited in by her family "Mom Dad could I just talk in private?" She asked they nodded as they left the room, I looked at her "I'm so sorry," I spoke softly.

"It's okay and don't think this is my backing away from finding Vae, im allowed to leave the hospital in a few hours so we can continue what we started," she said with a smile.

I sighed knowing it would be a bad idea but I needed her help mostly "Fine but if you feel unwell at any point make sure to tell me okay?" I crossed my arms over my chest.

"Okay okay, I promise," she responded.

"Look before the situation with you happened, I saw light underneath the ground, I think we are getting closer to finding out this mystery but first it's the funeral of Lily Wilkinson today, maybe we could go and attend," I said.

"Maybe there's clues there," she said.

I nodded "Well I will meet you at the funeral at 2 pm alright?" She nodded as I left the hospital and nodded at her parents.

It was 2:30 pm as I was sitting at the back in the church and Ellie limped and sat next to me, I looked at her and just smiled slightly knowing she was fine, I turned to see Vae's Mother on our left side, I nudged Ellie "I didn't know she knew this family," I said quietly.

"Oh yeah, it's like mother neighbourhood things Lily's mother got stuff for Vae's mother when Vae disappeared, it's like a mother cult at this point," Ellie replied quietly, I nodded keeping that in mind, after the funeral ended, I walked over to Vae's mother.

"Mrs Morgan?" I said sternly.

She turned her head and smiled walking over to me "Mr Perez? Is that correct?" She questioned.

"That's right, how are you? You seem like you're recovering amazingly," I said softly.

"I am still in pain but I need to keep going especially with Vae not home yet, any news yet?" She looked up with hope in her eyes.

I exhaled and shook my head "Nothing right now, but if something comes up I'll make sure to let you know," I rubbed her arm as she thanked me and walked to her car.

"Wait," I walked after her.

"Sorry I forgot to ask something," I said with a gentle look.

"No worries," she looked up expecting me to talk straight away.

I wiped the side of my mouth and looked at her "Ellie mentioned something about the mothers having this little group, I had no clue about it," I said.

"Oh... we started it when Kevin disappeared it was something like detective work, the police weren't doing anything about it so we wanted to find him ourselves but we lost hope after 7 months until the following year the next student went missing but the parents were so sick of it that they stopped, so it's just been me," she replied.

I watched her movements "Why did you stop?"

"After Vae and my husband been murdered then my attack, I was scared to carry on. I didn't want anything to happen to me just in case Vae is found she would lose her father and myself, I wouldn't know what to do with myself knowing that I have let my daughter down," she started to tear up, I felt bad as I rubbed her arm.

"I'm sorry for bringing up this topic, please head home and be safe okay?" I looked at her, and she nodded and left in her car, I walked over to Ellie.

"What did she have to say?" Ellie asked.

"I feel bad for her, the only woman I pity is her," I placed my hands on my hips.

"You know what, let's get going before it turns into more of a sob story," I said as I walked to my car.

"We are going in the daylight?" She raised her brow.

"Yes because I'm not having you flaking on me," I gestured her to my car as we both got in and started to drive towards the forest.

"How will you know where you saw the light?" She asked.

"Because there will be a block off where the body was found for evidence, only I'm allowed in it," I continued to drive.

"And me," she responded.

"Mhm and you,".

I kept driving as Ellie turned on the radio again as the song 'No Good' by Ruelle played.

I laid back in my seat and continued to drive as she was humming to the song, she looked at me "Did you hear those lyrics?" She said, as I shook my head "I'm focusing on the road," I replied.

"You can play the wolf but you can't escape the woods," she repeated it a few times, i didn't get it at first until my eyes lit up.

"You're right," we both smirked as we made it back to the forest.
