It was a few days later and still, we found nothing, thankfully with didn't bump into that figure or I don't think I could sprint anymore. I sat with Ellie in the school library whilst everyone was still in classes, I handed her papers "What's this for?" She took them.

"I told the principal I am helping you with Spanish it's the only way we can go in this library during school hours," I said as I rubbed my brow.

"But my Spanish is amazing," she replied with a smile.

"It's questionable," I exhaled, I kept looking at the shelves as I got up and walked over to the paintings, I moved my hands around the rim of them, and I exhaled. Nothing was there, I honestly was hoping there was some lever or button but there wasn't.

"Whatcha looking for?" Ellie got up and walked over to me.

I quietly muttered, "Try to find a button anywhere in this area,".

Ellie nodded as we continued looking for another unusual "In movies it's normally a book," she said.

I turned to look at her "There's about a thousand books in here and you want me to take every book off the shelf just to look?" I raised my eyebrows.

"Yeah..." she murmured.

"Sh!" The librarian made a loud hush sound.

I turned my head "I'm sorry," as I looked back at Ellie "No,".

"Why not?! One day I will be right," she said as she started to move some books.

"Not, now put the books back," I hissed.

She whinged as I rolled my eyes as she moved another both ended the book fell to the ground as I heard another loud hush.

I turned my head "Hush me one more time and I'll give you something to hush about!" I raised my voice as the librarian looked at me confused but stayed quiet, I rubbed my brow and bent down as I grabbed the book.

My phone started to buzz in my pocket as I gave Ellie the book "Put it back," I snapped at her whilst I answered the phone "Hello? Okay. I'm on my way," I said as I put the phone down.

"What's up? Where are we going?" Ellie said as she looked up at me.

"I'm going to the hospital and you're going home," I said as I started to walk out of the library.

"Why am I going home?!" She followed.

"Because we will be doing investigating tonight and I want you to rest up whilst I do this work," I said as I took out a cigarette and started smoking.

"So I get the boring thing and you get to go to the hospital?" She crossed her arms and pouted.

I rolled my eyes "Fine, come," I said as I walked to my car and I heard her giggle.

"You won't always get your way," I remarked.

After an hour of driving, we soon arrived at the hospital, I showed my badge to the doctors and also told them that Ellie was a trainee detective, I knocked on the room door before heading in and I saw Mrs Morgan asleep in the hospital bed with cuts and bruises on her body with a large gash on her chest.

I looked at the doctor "Can you tell me the injuries?" I asked the doctor.

"She is very lucky to have been here, two centimetres to the right she would've died, but she's here and she will be making a fast recovery she's already woken up and has spoken," the doctor said.

"May we stay here until she wakes up, I need to ask her questions. She knows who I am," I said as the doctor nodded and left the room.

An hour passed as I saw Mrs Morgan wake up, I allowed her to collect herself after 15 minutes had passed "Could you tell me what happened?" I looked up at her.

"Well uhm, I made the security guards dinner for helping me and protecting me and we finished dinner and I started to get ready for work as I heard screams downstairs, I ran downstairs to see a figure stabbing the guards to death, I ran to the front door but the thing grabbed me and stabbed me, I couldn't fight it off..." she started to cry as I moved my hand to hers and rubbed it gently.

"You're safe that's all that matters right now," I spoke gently.

"Did you find my daughter yet?" She wiped her eyes as I sighed with disappointment "No I haven't," I couldn't bear to look at her but she sighed as well.

"You're trying your best, the others don't do anything only you," she said as I just nodded.

I could hear Ellie messing around as my head turned "Ellie pack it in," she stopped what she was doing "Sorry, jeez," she said as she sat down next to me.

"Wait, Ellie?" The mother had recognised Ellie almost immediately as I rubbed the brow of my nose.

"Hey Mrs Morgan," Ellie said with a gentle smile.

"I didn't know. you were involved with this case," she said raising her brow.

"Uh, I'm a trainee. Mr Perez is my uhm... Uncle! Yeah, Uncle and here's helping me with my first training," Ellie said as she kept smiling.

I turned my head to Mrs Morgan "Kids huh? Don't we love them," I bit the inside of my mouth.

An hour later, we eventually left the hospital as we walked to my car "Does your parents not call you? Or are they at least worried?" I said as I unlocked my car.

"My parents work a lot out of town so I have the house to myself, and if they knew I was doing this they would be mad at me, but it's fun you know. One I get to help my best friend and secondly, I annoy you all the time, so it's a win," she said as she got in the car.

"Oh lucky me," I replied as I got in too.

"Tonight, we will be splitting up and I don't care about Scooby Doo shows if we want to solve this mystery we need to split up," I said as I handed her a radio.

"We have these to keep in touch and I want you to leave your phone in this car because people can track us through these so we will contact with these, understood?" I looked at her.

"Understood loud and clear," she replied.
