The Last Thing I Did

When Dakota arrived from the after party back to his territory they were received with joy. People were cheering and clapping their hands to celebrate that the Alpha has found a soulmate. Whereas Amelia was filled with joy and happiness, Dakota was miserable and hurt. He didn't want to hurt her since he was her soulmate but the feelings were not coming from two sides, but once marked you can't reject your soulmate. When they arrived at the bedroom Amelia looked with lust in her eyes and was ready to officially claim him as her mate. When her lips pressed against his it felt good to her but to Dakota it felt like knives stabbing him over and over again. He did go along with it just so that Amelia would provide him with an heir and after that he'd tell her the truth. At least, that's what he told himself. His mind kept telling him that this was a wrong thing to do and that he should stop but if Dakota would stop I'd create a scandal.

If he decides to suppress his real feelings then his Inner wolf will start fading and Dakota will start to lose control.

It's been four months since the wedding and Dakota still doesn't have an heir, it seems that he has some performance issues. In the meantime Amelia found out that Dakota doesn't feel the same about her and she took distance from him. The pack obviously took notice of it and started wondering who his real soulmate is than. They didn't see Amelia as his soulmate let alone the luna of the pack and she despises and blames Dakota for it. Her whole life is ruined because Dakota didn't want to admit his feelings for Rea and instead played hard to get. Rea has been doing everything she can to keep the rumors of Dakota's marriage inside the territory just because I'd give her territory a bad reputation. But Dakota being a dumbass he thinks it's because of her feelings for him.

"You disappoint me", Dakota's father said. "How could you marry a woman that's not your soulmate?!" Dakota sighed and looked down in shame. His father called a family meeting because of the rumors that were going around the pack. "It's complicated", Dakota says and his father scoffed. "You're dragging our name through the mud! Because you 'had' to reject your real soulmate", his father started raising his voice in anger. "I had to", Dakota said annoyed and now raising his voice as well. "My real soulmate is the Upper Alpha, I couldn't be with her. I'd ruin our life and the pack, I'd bring us in danger!" A silence went over the room and his father didn't know what to say. He wanted to say that it didn't matter that he had to marry his real soulmate but that wasn't realistic, because Rea would 'cause trouble to their life. "And I know that Amelia will make a great luna for this pack , it just sucks that I have to ruin her life for my sake", Dakota says then. "But only by that way will I provide an heir to the throne and that way the Volker line will remain strong." But yet again, Dakota hasn't told him about the fertility issues.

"I don't get why you don't want my help", Falk says looking behind bars at what Benjamin is doing. He sighed annoyed because of Falk's whining that has been non stop for the past two hours. "You failed to kill Deadlive and therefore ruined my plan and you made a few more children with her, one of them being Rea who is being a pain in my ass right now", Benjamin says tapping some blood from Falk. "That was an unexpected turn in the plan, it's not like Rea is going to be my soulmate", Falk argues with him. Benjamin knows that it was a bad idea to bring him out of Deadlive's alternate dimension but he needs him. His plan to keep Dakota and Rea apart from each other is working better than Benjamin thought. If they'd be together she'd be unstoppable. "Stop complaining , you're helping me by doing this", Benjamin says then. "It's just going to hurt..- a lot."

Rea was writing a letter to Dakota when suddenly her door went open without someone having knocked. "I need to speak to you, urgently", she heard the voice of her mother's soulmate: Jeremiah. Rea just keeps writing the letter and he just sits down and stares at her as she's finishing her work. "We need to talk about respect towards your mother and me", he says then. Rea puts her pen down and slowly looks up to him. "You want to talk about respect when you've just burst into my office while I'm working and sat down without asking me", Rea asked him. "You don't talk to me that way", he threatens and Rea looks with a raised eyebrow at him. "I'm your father now and you're going to listen to me. You're not going to have your life like it was with Shaddix , you'll do woman duties here and listen to me! Just like your mother will", he tells her and Rea looks him dead in the eye. 'He'll never be my father', she thought to herself. He honestly thinks because he's Upper Alpha in another territory that he is more superior. Rea stands up and walks around the room causing stress for Jeremiah. "I think it's best we remain in a professional relationship for the sake of our packs", Rea says keeping her anger inside of her. "Are you scared of losing your position", Jeremiah says then with a challenging grin on his face. "Because you do know when I'm married to your mother I have the right to rule this territory as well, since your mother is the luna of this pack. Unfortunately for you the Moongoddess didn't make rules about female Alpha's", he says convinced of his little triumph. 'How can a man be so stupid', she thought to herself. He is right about the fact that there are no laws about female werewolves because when the law was made no female werewolf was alive yet but now there is and she is going to make some changes. "Well , until you become the official mate from my mother you have to respect me and my position. If you don't, I have the right to send you back to your territory and that will be without my mother", Rea warns him. "Now if you'll excuse me I was attending to important matters before you came in."

After the posted the letter to Dakota's territory she thought to finally have a moment for herself but that was anything but true. "Can I talk to you", Voss asked Rea when he saw her walking through the village. She sighed exhausted and went back to the packhouse.

"We seem to have found a part of Benjamin's plan", Voss says then when they're in the Alpha office. Rea already read it in his thought and she already hated what Voss was about to tell her. "Apparently he is keeping Dakota away from you so you two don't connect and get a soulmate bond. Because you are at your strongest when you have a soulmate. That's why you need to make the connection again with Dakota", he explains to her and she shakes her head in disapproval. "First of all, I would never want to reconnect with Dakota especially after he rejected me. He chose to mark Amelia and it cannot be reversed which I also told Dakota already. You only get one soulmate in your life Voss, and Dakota screwed up because of letting Benjamin on his territory. I'm sure that I will handle Benjamin fine without a soulmate", Rea told him a bit annoyed by this conversation. "I've also got the news from Ross that Falk has been spotted on Dakota's territory. So I'm sure that he will soon make an appearance", he informs her. She already could feel frustration building up inside of her by only thinking about Falk. She couldn't help but think how her real mother Deadlive could've let him live and then continued to make children with him. If Deadlive really is the most powerful creature in this universe then why didn't she just kill Benjamin and Falk? How hard could it be with the power that Deadlive has to just snap his neck or put him in an alternate dimension, or even turn him into nothing but ashes?

"Okay, I'll just add it to my to do list", Rea sighed and went with her hand through her hair. Voss looked at Rea's black veins which he knew were not normal, not even for a Moon-Deadwolf. He was about to say something about it but Rea didn't want to hear it. "Just let me be Voss", she says. "Have you been training your power", he asked her but she ignored what he was saying. "It's important that you do, the black veins mean that your power is taking control over you and that can lead to serious problems", he warns her before letting her be.

When Rea went home she noticed her mother sitting at the table, surprisingly without Jeremiah. "I need to have a chat with you , Rea", her mother said gesturing to sit down in front of her. She already knew about what this conversation would be and she didn't want to hear it. "Jeremiah told me about the conversation he's had with you. And I know that because of that conversation you'll want to say no to him when he's going to ask you to marry us. But I want you to be the bigger person here and put your angry feelings aside", Daleyza says and Rea was quiet for a few seconds. She couldn't believe that her mother would ask that of her, obviously she only cares about the bond between her and Jeremiah and not about Rea's task as Upper Alpha and daughter. "He disrespected me and undermined my vision", Rea told her mother , offended that her mother is asking her to approve Jeremiah for her sake. When they get married the territories of Rea and Jeremiah will act as one and that is a hard and important task so they need to both respect each other and work together. "I've been living with Shaddix just so you'd raise up with two parents like the Moongoddess wanted, Shaddix his wolf knew that I wasn't his real soulmate and I could feel that on my mark. I sacrificed what could've been a beautiful life, but now I've found my real soulmate you're going to send him away because he doesn't respect you", she asks Rea trying to make her feel guilty but Rea is feeling anything but guilty. She's furious and you can see tears blinking in her eyes. Rea knows for a fact that she's been seeing Jeremiah for a long time now, she even has a child with him a secret which Daleyza thought she'd be able to keep forever but Rea has the ability to see memories. Shaddix never knew of the affair and it honestly would break his heart if he ever would've found out. "First of all I am not only your daughter but first and foremost your Upper Alpha and you don't tell me what to do. Second, when Jeremiah is here he has to respect me and not talk to me like I'm an Omega. And last but not least: I am very aware that you broke the law and claimed and let Jeremiah mark you years ago, you may have covered it up but I can still smell it from miles away. Which means that you should be happy I'm not killing you for your betrayal and actually considering letting you two get married, but I need respect! Do you understand that", Rea asks her pissed off not once breaking eye contact. "I'm still your mother and you shall respect me too", Daleyza says trying not to look shocked. "Do you understand", Rea says raising her voice and letting out a growl underneath her breath. "Yes", her mother simply says breaking eye contact. "I understand."
