That night, Rea fell asleep on her desk on top of the letters of the unhappy Alpha's. She would only sleep three hours in a week, but if she managed to sleep, she would be in this weird dream state. Sometimes, it looked as if she was seeing someone else's dream.
Rea was walking around in what seemed a bright new world , without a single house built and without a soul walking around. She walked towards the place where the pack house would be, not only to see a brand new pack house but to see Deadwolves walking around between the normal Werewolves. Rea was astonished by the female and male Deadwolves walking around.. and then she saw an older version of herself, and Voss stood at the balcony of the pack house , presenting their newborn child to the pack. Could this be the future?
She woke up heavily, breathing and looking around her. "It was just a dream," she sighed. As if that dream could ever come true, female and male Werewolves living in peace.
Not long after that, Voss walked in with a confused look on his face.
"You've let him live," he asked, clearly upset about it. Rea did understand that this would be hard for him. He lost his family because of Benjamin, and he isn't able to see justice be done. "I can't believe you'd be this naive , Rea! Have you learned nothing at all from your family's history?! He is a bad person and will remain a bad person. To bring everyone at risk by letting him stay here is the stupidest thing you've ever done!"
Rea rubbed her eyes, still sleepy from not getting any sleep this week, and looked up at Voss. "I know he is not to be trusted, I am fully aware of that," she says. She was doubting to tell him her plan, he deserves the truth certainly after everything he has been through but she's afraid he'd disapprove and refuse to help or that his mind would not be safe with Benjamin around. "If you know the risks, why would you choose to let him walk amongst us?" he asked. Memories of what happened a long time ago came back up for Voss. "I need him for a purpose," she said, and it only angered Voss more. That reason isn't good enough for him. He lost everything because of him, he died and came back a Hellwolf because of him. Forever being alive without his family is like a living hell. "No reason will be good enough to keep him alive. Do you actually understand my perspective, Rea? The hell you're putting me through by not killing him, the same thing your mother put me through but keeping him in an alternate dimension instead of killing him. You owe me his death, "he said, getting tears in his eyes.Rea felt sorry for him and guilty because no matter how much Voss hates this, she needs Benjamin to find a faster way to kill her mother. "I fully understand you, Voss, believe me, I do. I would never put you through this if it wasn't necessary and I promise you that when I don't need him anymore he'll have a very painful death just like he deserves", she told him , standing up to walk over to him. "I'm sorry for putting you through this," she says, while embracing him.
.....
Rea stood like a corpse in the gathering room with all the unhappy Alpha's who all requested this meeting. "My pack is starving because of this stupid punishment of yours," Blake said furiated. 'It's been three weeks, and already he's helpless without our help', Rea thought to herself. "Half my pack is in the hospital," he yelled. By the tension in the room, you could feel that Blake was planning a little bit more than just yelling at Rea, and she did not like it. "Before the packs worked together and did trade, we had to go out in the woods and catch prey like actual wolves. Are your wolf instincts really that far up your ass, Blake? If so, then it's not me putting your pack in the hospital , then it's because of your poor wolf skills, "Rea told him, and that hit a trigger for Blake. The other Alpha's were watching in anticipation of what would happen.
"I have shown respect towards you from the very beginning and have never gained any back, don't you think I might've had it with you!? I'm done playing the nice Upper Alpha, I'm putting so much effort into these packs, and what do I gain?! Unfaithful Alpha's , that's what. If it were my grandfather standing here, he would have ripped your throats out and just replaced you, I keep trying with you, but I have lost my patience." At this point, Rea has tears in her eyes, from tiredness but also hurt. She has lost the person who was like a father to her to this pack, Shaddix not only wanted Rea safe from Benjamin but also the pack, and then having almost no sleep in a week and keeping other territories far away from this one and also the hunters who'd like to sell Werewolf parts on the black market. "Maybe things are not working out because female Alpha's should not exist," Blake said then, getting closer to her. "Maybe it'd time you do distance from your title."
