The rest of the week carries on the same as a always: Luke ignoring every ounce of me.
Even on Friday, which was Halloween, he ignored me. I didn't drink as much as I normally did. I was merely buzzed.

Mia was there as well, which was surprising. She sat in between Luke and Ethan on the other couch. It appeared that Luke didn't get that drunk either, though he's better at hiding it.

On Saturday, dad left for another business trip in America. Mom decided to stay at home this week. Part of me wishes she left. Either way, she usually abandons our needs.

The next week at school, I get told the place where the group hangs out in the morning. This is great news in itself, because then I don't have to arrive at my class 40 minutes early. The group apparently sits in this empty hallway by the choir room. It's a very remote location. I'm a bit discouraged when I see Mia there because that means she found out before me.

When I sit down on the end next to Luke, I notice he quickly looks at me and then he looks away.

I start to piece things together. He's been distant since our family dinner. I must have really thrown him off. But I also notice he ignores me in front of his friends.

On Wednesday, I make up my mind: I'm going to talk to him. After school, I put on his blink 182 t-shirt with some blue jeans and I walk over to his house. I decide between going through the back or meeting his mother. I decide with the latter.

I ring the doorbell and I wait a couple seconds. The door opens a tiny bit. A petite woman with blonde hair down to her shoulders opens up the door. She greets me with a gentle smile.

"Hi Mrs. Hemmings. My name is Bea. Is Luke here?" I smile back.

Mrs. Hemmings looks pleased. She steps back and let's me in. She shuts the door behind me. "Come on in, Bea. He will be home in a couple minutes."

I follow her to the living room which is well furnished with modern grey couches. They're similar to the ones in the basement. I sit down on one, and she sits down on the other.

"His friends have told me all about you!" Mrs. Hemmings exclaims. "I've tried to ask Luke but he gets all red in the face. Oh he will be so embarrassed when he sees us talking."

She starts giggling and I join in with her. She seems so adorable.

Seconds later, the door opens. I turn to look and I see Luke walk in. He kicks off his shoes and I hear him take a big deep breath. His black backpack slings over his right shoulder. Then he makes a dash for the stairs. He turns his head to the kitchen.

"Hi Mum." Luke says. He's about to keep walking but stops when he realizes she's not in the kitchen. Then he turns to look this way. He noticed the two of us and instantly frowns.

"Luke, honey! Look who I met!" Mrs Hemmings says while standing up. I follow her as we walk over to him.

Luke stares at me with a betrayed look in his eyes. It causes me to smile, knowing I ticked him off.

"Why don't you show her downstairs?" She asks.

Luke nods. He opens the door and heads downstairs. I follow quickly behind him. We approach the living space. Luke plops his backpack in the floor next to the couch and then faces me with his arms crossed.

I dig in my backpack and I pull out the DVD. "I wasn't able to focus on the movie. And since it's your fault, I figured you should have to watch it with me."

"No." He immediately says. "Leave."

I frown. "Oh come on!"

I run over to the DVD player and I input the DVD. Then I turn on the TV and I switch the channel. Luke roles his eyes while sitting down on the couch in a half laying position. His head and back are propped up by the pillows. I press play and I walk over to him with a smile. I crawl on top of him and I rest my head on his chest. He wraps his arms around me.

"I missed this." I whisper.

Luke groans. "Do you wanna watch the fucking movie or not?"

I draw tiny lines on his chest. "Not really. I just wanted to talk."

He grabs my hand to stop it. "Well I don't."

My heart begins to race at his force. I swallow a lump in my throat. But then I remember why I'm here. I sit up so that I'm blocking the TV from him. I look down at him desperately.

"You can't keep ignoring me and then expect me to let you have me. How long, Luke?" I let out.

Luke stares at me with a blank expression. The same expression I have seen him have all week long. The expression he has given only to me if he even looks at me.

"A month." He finally days.

I laugh in disbelief. "A month?! Luke are you feeling okay?"

He looks off to the side. "I don't want to take a step back but I need to, okay?"

"Can we still cuddle?"

Luke groans. "Yes we can still cuddle."
