The next two days, Luke goes on without talking to me. I feel bad because I know something is going on in his head, but I respect his wishes to not talk about it. In English, I'm surprised to find he doesn't move away from me even though his old spot is open.

After school, I go with Raven in her car. Mia also decided to come with us. She explains that she's going to have to pick up Suzanne and Jillian because their car broke down.

We pull up to the house and Raven urges us out. We follow her inside the house and upstairs to a fairly large bedroom. Suzanne and Jillian sit at the vanity. The other three of us scatter throughout the room. I sit on the bed with Mia and we watch the girls get ready.

"Mia, how are things with you and Ethan?" Suzanne questions.

Mia and Ethan? Since when?

Mia's face becomes red. "Oh, it's good. We hang out most days after school. He's very sweet. I actually had my first kiss yesterday."

The girls all squeal for Mia. I try to act happy, but I can't help but to feel a hint of jealousy.

"It's hard to imagine Luke and Ethan kissing other people." Jillian laughs.

The laughs quickly die out and the room falls to an awkward silence. That's when I notice everyone is looking at me.

"Luke's been acting a bit strange." Raven states.

Everyone nods in agreement, but they keep looking at me almost as if they want me to explain why. But the truth is, I don't know.

We arrive to the house rather late. It's closer to 8pm. We sneak around back and through the basement door. That's when we see the guys all over on the couches while playing video games. The guys cheer as we walk in. Mia sits down next to Ethan, giving him a big hug. Raven and Nate sit on the other side of Ethan. I pretend I don't see Luke. I'm about to sit on the other couch when the other girls quickly sit there. That only leaves the spot next to Luke.

I sigh as I take my spot. Luke holds up the two liter bottle which is 1/4 empty now. I take it from his hands and I throw my head back. I take a bit gulp before setting the bottle down in my lap.

"How much have you had to drink?" I ask him.

Luke chuckles. I smell the raspberry come off his lips. "That's about twelve shots I'd say."

"Twelve shots?!" Raven gasps.

"We're all around twelve shots in." Mike from the other school says. "Catch up ladies."

"We're getting fuckkkkeed tonight." Luke slurs. Then he looks at me. "Well, I mean not literally of course."

So I drink quiet a bit. I drink probably another 1/4 of the bottle. It really starts to hit me, as the room begins to spin like how it would feel after you role down a hill. It's getting to the point where I can't remember what I said a couple minutes ago. I don't really know what's going on, or what the conversation is anymore.

"Jillian, truth or drink?" Suzanne says.  "Who was the last person you slept with?"

I glance over at Luke who's head is leaned back against the couch, his eyes staring at the ceiling.  I gently take the bottle from his hands as put it on the table.  He tries to lift his head, but clearly it's too heavy for him.  It falls back on the couch.

"You're cut off."  I mumble.

Jillian giggles.  "You bitch!  Wait.  Should I answer?"

Luke's head then swings up forcefully. "Drink."

There goes a small bickering back and forth between Jillian and Luke. Jillian's bickering is hidden in her laughter. Luke's is verbal. He's almost yelling at her to drink.

"Luke." She smiles.
