Isla knew how she was worried about her mum coming back to mess things up for her. She was finally happy. She was over everything that had happened in the past.

Things were hard. And she had no idea how to even make it work. But she was thankful that she had her dad.

He had been adamant that she wasn't going to see her mum. He didn't want to put his daughter through seeing the woman who abused her. It was so hard. And he didn't want her to suffer anymore.

It wasn't easy. And Max wanted to be a better father. He was going to be a better father than what the mother was. He didn't want to even to call her by her name.

Isla was his priority. And making sure Leigh was able to adopt her. It was something that both of them wanted.

Lexie was happy. And Max's main goal was to make sure Isla's life worked out. It was the only thing he wanted.

All that the Tyler's knew was that life was changing. And things weren't going to be easy. Especially when Isla's mother came back onto the picture.

Morning came and Isla walked down into the kitchen. Leigh was there making breakfast. She smiled. "Morning darling. You okay?" She asked.

Isla nodded. She looked around. "Where's my dad? I'm surprised he's not here," she said.

Leigh smiled. She looked to her. "He's gone to find your mum. He wants her to sign her rights over. He says he isn't giving up until he's found her," she told her.

Isla nodded and smiled. "Oh okay. Do you think she will? I just don't want to go through all of this just for it to be thrown back in our face," she said.

"I think we're choosing to be positive. I love you like you're my own. I didn't give birth to you. But you're the daughter I chose. Okay?"

"Okay. I love you."

"Love you too sweetie. Always will," Leigh told her as she hugged her. "Go get Lexie for breakfast. She's been driving me potty."

Isla grinned and walked into the living room. Wanting things to be okay.

Isla walked into her dad's office. She looked to him and smiled. "Did you find her?" She asked.

Max sighed and shook his head. "No. Did Leigh bring you?"

Isla nodded and smiled. "Yeah. She did. Dad. What's going on? Do you think she'll give up her rights to me?" She asked.

Max smiled. "I hope she will. I want to give you a stable family. And we can do that. I just need to get rid of her out of our life," he told her.

Isla knew it was what she wanted. But part of her couldn't help but think what if. What if her mum did want her.

She couldn't tell her dad though. Knowing he was doing all he could to give her a better life.

Isla was sitting in the common room. She looked up as Tom walked in. He smiled. "Hey. You okay?" He asked.

Isla nodded. "I'm good. How are you?"

"Yeah I'm okay. You know I'm here. If you need to talk," Tom told her as he took her hand.

Isla smiled. But she had no idea how she was about to find herself getting a lot closer to Tom Clarkson.
