Isla knew how things had been lately. Her dad now knew about how she wanted to see her mum. And while he had agreed to take her, she knew he was having severe doubts about it.
Isla knew she didn't want a relationship with her mum. Too much had happened for her to even think about having a relationship. She saw Leigh as her mum now. And she was thankful she had a decent female role model in her life.
It wasn't easy. And Isla knew she didn't want to really get to know. She just wanted answers. She knew she was worried about it. And she had every right to be worried. She just had to move on.
Isla knew that she and Max had agreed to not mention the meeting in front of Lexie. Knowing it would upset her and she would start getting upset.
All that Isla knew was that the meeting with her real mum would change things. And she didn't know how to handle it all.
Morning came and she walked down into the living room. She saw Leigh sitting on the sofa. Isla joined her and smiled. "Morning."
"Hey. Your dad told me you're seeing her today. Are you okay?" Leigh asked.
Isla shrugged and sighed. She looked to her and sighed. "I think so. I'm just... I don't know what to think. I want to get answers as to why she hurt me and Lexie. It's not gonna be easy. But I need them. To be able to move on."
Leigh smiled to her. "I hope you know I'm proud of you. I know you've not had it easy. And finding out Lexie isn't actually your sister must have been devastating for you. But I hope you know that despite me not giving birth, you're my daughter."
"You're my mum too. And thank you. For helping me see that not all mum's are heartless bitches," Isla said.

Isla was sitting in the common room at school. She looked up as Tom walked in. She smiled. "Hi sir."
"Hey. Are you okay? I know you're worried about seeing your mum. But your dad will be there for you," Tom said.
Isla shrugged and smiled. "I'm going to be okay. It's scary. But I'm going to do what I can to move on. I've been a brat, I know that. But I want to move on with my life. Make something of myself."
Tom smiled as he took her hand. "You're not bad at all. You've been through a lot. So it's natural. You're an amazing girl. And whatever you decide to do, it's going to be okay," he told.
Isla looked to him. She knew how she had a thing for him. But she couldn't act on it. Knowing she didn't want him to get into trouble.

All too soon, Max and Isla were driving to the meeting. Isla was nervous. And Max could tell. He took his daughter's hand. "You're going to be okay. I'll be there. And the moment you feel uncomfortable, we will leave," he told his daughter.
"Thanks dad."
Max smiled to his daughter. But was he ready to let Isla come face to face with the woman who had caused so much damage?
