"Sorry, we're going to be around here quite often in the near future - if he can't control himself give me a call." the tall dark-haired male said in an annoyed tone, and rushed after his friend shortly after he finished talking.

Sanzu. That's what his name is. I heard him say it. But who is the other guy?

You stand there, still puzzled with the piece of crumbled paper in your hand. Upon further inspection you see his phone number scribbled on there, and decide to put it in your pocket and make your way home.

The weekend goes by uneventful because you stayed home in case that Sanzu guy would be lingering around and you would like to avoid him on every occasion possible.

Babe <3; 10.45 pm

>>"Got a taxi. Will be home in 15 mins. xx"

Excitedly you put on a coat and decide you wanted to go for a walk and get some takeout before he gets here, so we can eat and talk about his trip. The restaurant where you get your takeout usually is on the other side of the street turning in the other direction, so you forget your worries about the weird guy and think he is not gonna be around there as it's in the completely opposite direction. You almost skip while walking because you're so excited for your boyfriend to be by your side again, smiling brightly you cross the street to where the restaurant is located.

Fifteen minutes pass by as you are waiting for your food to be ready and it's still going to take a little longer, so you text your boyfriend that you will be late, as you're still waiting for your takeout to be ready.

As you're stepping outside to have a smoke while waiting you pace around outside the restaurant and walk around the corner where you couldn't see anybody because only one of the three street lights was working. The dimly lit street looked really lonely and kind of gave off a bad vibe. The fog did the rest and you couldn't make out anything, but since you didn't have to go in that direction anyway you decide to strut back to the front of the restaurant.

The cigarette gets crushed in the ashtray, still smoking, and your food is now ready. You get the little bag with your dinner and turn your heel to walk in the other direction to get home. The silence around you has become really loud and you could neither hear a car nor people. Listening closely you could hear a needle fall down on the ground. The shuffling of your footsteps echo through the night as you make your way home.

Making your turn to your street and going around the corner, you suddenly get to a full stop, almost bumping into the person in front of you. Looking up, you know exactly who it is. You sigh and roll your eyes. He was so close you could smell the smoke still lingering on his coat, mixed with some hint of cinnamon and citrus. It was beguiling and a really uncommon scent, so it lingered in your thoughts and nose longer than it should have. While absolutely freezing in your step, your mind goes completely blank, thinking about what will happen next.

"Excuse me." you look him in the eyes and try to talk with a demanding tone, but you were sure it sounded more annoyed than demanding.

Those few seconds felt like hours just standing there, not moving a single muscle. Not even trying to. In anticipation of his next move. Ready to jump at any second.

"I saw you walking here earlier, aren't you scared being out alone late at night, angel? You know what you get from being mean to strangers..." Leaning in closer to your face, you could feel his hot breath fanning your cheeks. "I would be rather careful if I was you..." He reached into his pocket pulling out a cigarette and leaning back a little as he lit it. You almost thought he was going to pull out a gun for a second and were kind of relieved, that it was only a cigarette.

He looked so threatening, you even considered screaming for help, but no one would hear you this late and further away from the main street. Would someone even come to help? You figured you'd rather stay silent and also reached into your pocket. There it is. Your phone. You are getting ready to decide wether to fight or flight. What do I do now?

R U N.

You can't run. He will catch you. He is for sure faster than you are.

F I G H T.

You can't fight either. He will break your bones. He is for sure stronger than you are.

So, what will the decision be. Running your mind of every possible outcome you seem to have passed out while standing there.

Sanzu. That is his name.

"Leave me alone, Sanzu." The tone of your voice is aggressive and determined. But it took all the courage you had at that moment to sound like this.

Maybe he will leave? After all, he will know I stand no chance against him by any means. He is probably smarter, stronger and faster.

He put his hands up, with the cigarette still in it, burning and smoking.

"I was just trying to warn you, darling." His smirk gets darker as he takes a step towards you. You could see his teeth glaring in the dark, illuminated by the street light. His eyes just as dark as they stare you down in the middle of the sidewalk. He is now towering over you.

You could feel the hair on the back of your neck stand up and a cold shiver go down your back because you were scared shitless. But you can't let him know. So you just do your best at covering up your fear and try to take a step forward to go past him.

He mirrored your step and plants himself in front of you again.

"Fuck off." Your voice still determined even if you could feel all courage leave you again.

You could almost feel the sweat forming on your forehead even if it was only a few degrees outside. Even his presence alone made you feel uneasy. What is it about him? Your eyes study his piercing blue ones and travel down his face only to end at his diamond shaped scars on the corners of his mouth. How does someone even get those kind of scars? That must have hurt like hell.

Before you could take another step forward to pass him, you could feel his long fingers wrap around your throat. Faster than you could even react to his hand, he reached out with his other hand to increase the strength.

Breathe. Breathe. Breathe. I CAN'T FUCKING BREATHE.

You gasp for air as you try to grab his hand to fight his tightening grip around your throat. The more you fight, the tighter his grip is getting.

FUCK.
