Kakucho told you exactly where to put the goods, so you make your way across the street and follow the sidewalk until you come to an intersection. You haven't heard Kakucho drive off yet, so you look back at the car, before you turned to the left and then turn left once again, to end up at the alley you have to walk through to get to the destination. A loud howl of a car motor could be heard in the distance and you knew, Kakucho wasn't there anymore. You would be alone for around half an hour now, so you needed to be on alert with all your senses spiked up and paying attention to your surroundings, to not miss any sound or movement around you.
I can do this. I can do this. I can do this. Be that bitch, y/n. Just focus on the job.
Everytime your mind drifted off to think about Liam, you cursed yourself and repressed your thoughts for a while. You let out a sigh of relief, when you finally got to the spot Kakucho explained to you, and you turn to the right, to the narrow alleyway with a dead end. Before dissapearing fully into the dim lit street, you pan around to see if anyone followed you or was around you somewhere, but you couldn't see anything, so you thought everything was clear.
*THUD*
What the hell was that?
You slowed down your steps towards the stairway to the property to listen closely, if you could hear another sound without turning around, but your eyes were searching for something that could have sounded like this or if something had fallen down. It took a few seconds for your eyes to adjust to the darkness but you couldn't see anything or anyone. Your breathing got heavier when you crouched down and reached inside your bag, to pull out the smaller package that you needed to deliver. The other hand was in the pocket of your coat, clawing your phone in case you needed to escape and call Kakucho.
Shit's getting real now. I can do this.
Suddenly you hear footsteps approaching in a distance. The shuffling on the concrete gets louder as you were listening closely, panic setting in slowly while you brush through all your thoughts what could happen and what you could do now.
Fuck Fuck Fuck what do I do now help oh my god what do I do???
A deep voice made you jump and ripped you out of your thoughts instantly.
"Is everything okay, Miss? ♡"
You turned your head around to look at the person interrupting you, and laid your eyes on a man in a suit and glasses smiling at you widely. A nervous laugh escaped your lips and you respond to him while still rummaging through your bag, to seem like you were searching for something. You hoped he didn't notice your trembling hands, because you couldn't hide your fear.
"Yeah, all good, I'm just looking for my keys to get in." You smiled at him politely, with your hand still in your bag. He took a step towards you into the alley, making you even more nervous, sweatdrops almost forming on your forehead. You tried to hide it and kept smiling at him, while taking a small step back, towards the dead end.
"Are you sure, you don't need help? ♡" He spoke in such a soft tone, as if he knew already and wanted to lure you in. Like a spider trying to get the prey into it's net. He put his hand up to his face to adjust his glasses, and you glanced at his hand, noticing some kind of tattoo on the back of it, peeking out of the sleeve of his suit.
"Everything is fine, don't worry. Thank you for your concern, though!" you hurriedly responded to him and never took your eyes off his, as they were almost sparkling, the light reflecting off of them, making it seem like they were liquid gold.
Oh wow I have never seen such an eyecolor before...
"Alright ♡ Then I wish you a good evening, dear..." He turned around with a smile gracing his lips still, and took a turn to the right, disappearing into the darkness.
PHEW... That was a fucking close call... I don't even wanna think about what could have happened...
You pulled out the bag with the drugs and threw it to the top of the stairs, landing with a thud in front of the door. In a hurry, you pulled out your phone to check the time and go to get picked up by Kakucho again. Fortunately, it was already almost an hour later, so you knew, Kakucho would be parking where he dropped you off.
Slowly but surely, you made your way out the alley and sneaked out to the main street again, still being careful not to meet the man from before again. You looked around at all times to just be sure that guy was nowhere to be seen anymore.
Finally, you got to the intersection and almost ran back to the parking spot, as you couldn't wait to get to the safety of the car. Kakucho noticed you walking at a fast pace towards him and rolled down his window to take a closer look at you. Your expression changed from stressed to relieved when his face appeared in the window and you couldn't help but smile at him, just because you were so glad, you were back and safe.
It worked. Again. I'm a fucking genius. Get on my level bitches.
Your smirk grew wider, when you opened the door to get inside and greet Kakucho. When you finally closed the door, it was as if a thousand pounds had been lifted off your chest and you let out a heavy sigh, before turning to Kakucho.
"You did it. Even though you didn't look like you could get through it before you left." The corners of his mouth lifted a little and you returned his look.
"Duh?! I almost got caught, but I distracted him pretty well, so..." You shrugged your shoulders, stuck your tongue out at him and winked. "Who was it?" His expression suddenly got way more serious and the tone of his voice was suddenly harsher than before. "I don't know, some guy... He had a tattoo on his hand, but I couldn't see it very well..." you responded in a small voice, because his behaviour kind of intimidated you.
He mumbled something under his breath as he revved the car and drove off in the other direction to get you home, but you couldn't make out what he was saying. There was only one thing you heard clear as day.
"... I thought that bastard would finally be gone ..."
