Later That Evening~~~~

As our arrival was announced at the Carp Tower, they formally declared, "Clan Leader Jiang and Young Lady Chang," and we began the ascend up the stairs.

"No matter how many times I climb this tower, I still fucking hate these stairs," I complained, letting out a groan. "Quit whining and keep climbing," retorted Jiang Cheng, and we eventually reached the top.

Moments later, an announcement declared the arrival of Clan Leader Lan and Hanguang-Zun. They followed behind us, accompanied by Wei Wuxian. I exchanged a wave with Wei Wuxian.

However, Jiang Cheng suddenly slapped my hands away, sparking a sense of jealousy within him. I discreetly rubbed my hands, pretending indifference.

"Zewu-Zun," Jiang Cheng greeted with a respectful nod.

"Clan Leader Jiang, I've heard about some unrest in Yunmeng. I hope everything has been resolved," inquired Lan Xichen. Jiang Cheng nodded, asserting,

"It's under control now. Just a minor disturbance." This prompted a surprised gasp from me at his understatement.

'This fucking maniac!! Minor?? MINOR?? You literally almost set your clan on fire. The servants were screaming!! Even with both of us it took us till afternoon to finish!'

"Shut up!!" He scolded me. "I didn't even say anything." I grumbled crossing my hands across my chest. "You were thinking about it, I could see it on your face!" He scoffed.

"Hanguang-Zun I've never seen you attending any conferences before, what interested you this time?" Jiang Cheng asked but Lan Wangji didn't reply and he looked at Wei Wuxian who was wearing his mask.

"Zewu-Zun you've never brought freeloaders before. What's special now? Is this once in blue moon? Please do introduce this talented cultivator to me."

Jiang Cheng asked knowingly and Lan Xichen just smiled.

"Now, Now Jiang Cheng that's enough bullying" I said as I held his shoulder and pulled him back ."Come on let's go inside first." I said trying to get him inside.

"Er-Ge why didn't you tell me before that Wangji was coming?"Jin Guangyao asked who came with Jin Ling. "Ah-Yao" I said as I went and hugged him.

"Yinhwa when did you return back? We're not kids anymore let me go." He asked as he patted my back. "I returned last month." I replied as I let him go.

"Oh!! Why didn't come visit before?" He asked. "Ummm things happened and I too got busy so I couldn't come earlier sorry." I said guilty and he shook his head.

"It's good you're here now, that's what matters," Jin Guangyao reassured. "Uncle," called Jin Ling looking at Jiang Cheng.

"Uncle? UNCLE?! So now you remember me?" Jiang Cheng retorted. "Calm down, Clan Leader Jiang. A-Ling acknowledges his mistake," Jin Guangyao intervened.

"He's been so anxious about facing consequences that he hardly ate or slept properly," Jin Guangyao lied for his nephew.

"Bullshit!! A-Yao, you've pampered him so much in the past two years that I had to leave," I interjected.

"Watch your language, Yinhwa," Lan Xichen smiled at me in a stern tone, leaving me nodding, feeling a bit intimidated. 'Lan Xichen is as imposing as always.'

"Children will be children. Clan Leader Jiang, you care for him more than anyone. So, please forgive him," Jin Guangyao implored.

"Yes! Yes! I've had a poor appetite lately," Jin Ling added, trying to charm Jiang Cheng.
