I awoke to a sharp pain coursing through my body, groaning as I struggled to sit up. "Ugh!! What the hell!" Blinking in the bright room, I glanced out the window to see a pond adorned with delicate lotus flowers.
"You're finally up?" A gentle voice drew my attention, and I turned to find Jiang Cheng standing there. "Jiang Cheng?" I attempted to rise, but he gently told me to lie back down.
"Rest, it's alright,"
"When did I get back?" I asked, puzzled. "Three days ago," Jiang Cheng replied. "I was unconscious for three days?" I asked astonished.
"No, it's been five days since you lost consciousness." Jiang Cheng corrected.
Just then, someone entered the room, and I sat up straight, immediately on guard. "Madam Yu--" I began to speak, but a stinging pain in my cheek cut me off as I received a hard slap.
"This is the first time I've ever been slapped in my entire life, and it's rather painful than I expected." I chuckled, rubbing my throbbing cheek.
The lady was furious.
"How dare you laugh!" Yu Ziyuan berated, raising her hand for another strike. Swiftly, I evaded her second attempt.
"Come on, Mother. It's been five days since I woke up, and the first thing I receive is a slap?" I asked, amused, as I stood up and stretched my body.
"Who are you calling 'mother'? I'm not your mother!" However, she denied the mother title, she protested as her Zidian sparking with irritation.
"But you'll become my mother if I marry Jiang Cheng, won't you?" I replied, smirking at him. Exasperated, he ordered.
"Shut up!"
With my internal energy focused in my palm, I healed myself, gradually mending the injuries from the inside out.
Finally, I bowed to Yu Ziyuan showing my gratitude. "Madam Yu, I'm thankful for the kindness you've shown me," I expressed with a respectful bow.
However, her reaction took me by surprise. She swiftly lashed her Zidian whip in my direction, forcing me to dodge the unexpected attack.
"Come on now! Seriously?! Madam Yu! I just woke up!" I exasperated as she whip swung again, and this time, I caught it in my hands, wincing at the sharp, painful sting.
With a sly smile, I embraced her. "You insolent brat! Let me go!" Yu Ziyuan demanded, clearly displeased with my actions.
"I'm sorry," I said, releasing her. "I don't feed kids who don't listen to me," She was still stern, she declared, though I couldn't help but chuckle.
"Come on don't say that, show some mercy to this poor child." Using my charm, I turned on the puppy-dog eyes and spoke with exaggerated innocence.
"Lady Yu, I've been starved for days. Please don't say that. I'll do everything you ask. Don't be angry with me," I pleaded. Eventually, she relented.
"Hmph! Fine, come!" Yu Ziyuan agreed, reverting her Zidian to its ring form. I winked at Jiang Cheng leaving behind her and he rolled his eyes.
We shared a meal together, and later, I had the chance to meet Shijie. Wei Wuxian, however, remained unconscious.
Then, I changed into Yanli's clothes. "I'm sorry, these are my old ones. My new clothes would be too large for you."
