Yinhwa's Pov

As we were captivated by Lan Wangji's smile, screams from outside shattered the tranquility.

"Who is it?" Su She asked as he headed to the door. But before he could open it, the door burst open with a crack from the Zidian whip, propelling him backward.

In stormed Jiang Cheng, casting a cursory glance at us before Fairy bounded in, barking excitedly.

"Lan Zhan!" Wei Wuxian exclaimed, leaping into Lan Wangji's lap. "I'm here," Lan Wangji assured, embracing him and rubbing his back.

"Hug me!" He demanded. "I am hugging you," Lan Wangji responded. "Hug me tighter!" He insisted. "I am hugging you tightly," Lan Wangji replied.

Then acting all lovey and dovey prompting a vein to pop on mine and Jiang Cheng's heads.

"Will you both fucking stop it already!?" I asked, raising my voice, causing them to cease. "Fairy, Fairy, bite him! Bite him!" Jin Ling commanded, pointing at Su She.

Fairy chased Su She out of the temple, adhering to Jin Ling's command. Then, Jin Guangyao arrived.

"Clan Leader Jiang, beware of the Guqin," Lan Xichen warned, but Jin Guangyao proceeded to attack Jiang Cheng.

Time Skip ~~

Jiang Cheng engaged in a fierce battle with Jin Guangyao, sustaining injuries in the process.

However the truth is in his mind and it’s eventually used by Jin Guanyao's manipulation to defeat Jjang Cheng and render him powerless.

"Uncle!" Jin Ling called out, rushing to assist the now almost kneeling Jiang Cheng. "Don't move. Let him sit," Lan Xichen instructed.

"Move!" Jiang Cheng retorted, shoving Jin Ling aside.

Lan Wangji offered his cushion to Jiang Cheng. "Thank you, Hanguang-Zun," Jin Ling expressed gratitude as he accepted it.

Jiang Cheng settled, next to where I was seated. Anticipating our closeness, I pulled my legs in, almost tucking them beneath my chest, knowing our knees would likely touch.

Fairy suddenly dashed in, barking. "Fairy! Run, they'll kill you," I shouted, urging the dog away. Soon after, Su She arrived, his attire torn and bloodstained.

"What happened?" Jin Guangyao asked as he approached Su She. "Forgive me. I couldn't catch it. The dog is very cunning. It'll bite anyone it deems a threat," Su She explained.

"It's my fault for giving him to Jin Ling," Jin Guangyao sighed.

"Clan Leader, we've brought it to the surface. A portion is visible," One of the guards who had been digging reported, prompting the two antagonists to head towards them.

"Did you know?" Wei Wuxian now realizes that Jiang Cheng and Lan Wangji know the truth and I nod.

"Was it Yinhwa?" Wei Wuxian questioned himself loudly, and I gasped smacked his head. "Do I appear that unreliable to you?" He whimpered rubbing his head.

"It was Wen Ning. He's deeply sorry for it," Lan Wangji explained. "I repeatedly told him not to disclose it," Wei Wuxian added.

"Never to speak of what?" Jiang Cheng asked harshly, capturing our attention.

"Wei Wuxian, you're so selfless, so noble. You've always acted right and suffered for it. You could only keep it to yourself," Jiang Cheng mocked.

"I told Yinhwa everything..." Wei Wuxian muttered.

"Of course, how could I forget about your girlfriend," Jiang Cheng remarked dismissively, to which I scowled. "I'm not his girlfriend," but he disregarded my comment.
