Yinhwa's POV

I groaned as sunlight streamed into my room, rousing me from my sleep. "Ugh... I'm so sleepy," I mumbled, rubbing my eyes.

"Its time." A disciple from the Gusu Clan informed us that it was time for class. I looked around and noticed Wei Wuxian still sleeping.

"Wei Wuxian, wake up!" I said, shaking him gently. "No, let me sleep," he whined. "We're going to be late," I insisted, continuing to shake him.

Just then, the sound of a bell ringing echoed through the air, and Wei Wuxian immediately snapped awake.

"Shoot! The Salute Ceremony is starting," He exclaimed, and we hurriedly got up and prepared to leave.

"This is all your fault," He grumbled, and I looked at him offended. "Hey, I literally tried to wake you up!" I defended myself.

We parted ways to get ready for the ceremony. After I had prepared myself, I entered the hall. All eyes were on me as I walked in and they started murmuring among themselves.

'Talk about feeling intimidated. All this attention is suffocating'

"Miss, over here!" Mingyuan raised his hand, signaling me to join him. I  stood behind Lan Wangji in the second row. "Did you bring everything necessary?" I asked.

"Yes, books, gifts, writing quill, ink, everything you need," He replied, and I couldn't help but express my relief. "Ah, Mingyuan, you're a lifesaver," I Said, side-hugging him, and he seemed rather pleased.

"That I am."

Shortly after, Lan Quiren arrived, and I let go of Mingyuan. We all bowed down three times, paying our respects. Then we began to read the principles of the Gusu Lan Sect.

It was time for the gift-giving part of the ceremony, starting with the Jin Clan. "The Jin Clan of Lanling is saluting," announced a Gusu disciple.

"I'm Jin Zixuan from the Jin Clan. I'm here to visit the Grand Master," Jin Zixuan said, taking the middle space in the room, as he bowed and presented his gift to Lan Quiren.

Next was Huaisang's turn. He and Meng Yao bowed as a sign of respect. "To represent the Nie Clan, I present the dark red sand elixir pot," Huaisang said.

"Assistant Meng Yao from the Nie Clan of Qinghe is here to present the dark red sand elixir pot on behalf of Clan Leader Nie," Added Meng Yao.

"My lady, that's how you should also speak, okay." Mingyuan whispered to me I rolled my eyes and replied, "Hey, shut up, I know."

"I heard he was kicked out of the Jin clan." "Haha! You mean literally, he was kicked down the stairs." Then some onlookers started to badmouth Meng Yao.

"Ahem!" Prompting me to clear my throat and glare at them until they fell silent. Lan Xichen went and accepted their gift.

Now it was the Jiang Clan's turn. Jiang Cheng was about to present his respects with Wei Wuxian, when he was interrupted by members of the Wen Clan, which created a disruption.

"I think that the gate of the Lan Clan is the hardest to enter." Said a guy.

"Who's that?" I whispered to Mingyuan. "He's the Second Young Master from Wen Clan, Wen Chao, and the ones behind him are his cousins, Wen Qing and Wen Ning,"

"Not knowing Young Master would come, we, the Lan Clan should apologize. In the recent century the Wen Clan has never attended the lecture of the Lan."

"Is Young Master Wen here to relay any advice from His Excellency?" Asked Lan Xichen. "Clan Leader Lan you are wrong. I'm not here for the lecture. I'm just escorting my cousins here."
