"Come on, honey, hurry up! Do you want us to be late?"

Yunho picked up his bag, getting ready to leave for Skinner Inc., waiting for Mingi, who was still dealing with his chores.

"Yes, dear, just be patient a bit longer!" Mingi replied from the kitchen. He was washing the breakfast dishes. As he wasn't as practiced in household tasks, he couldn't be as quick as Yunho. He still had a lot to learn from Yunho.

Soon, he finished, took off his apron, hanging it in its place. Noticing something that deeply concerned him.

A bunch of pregnancy tests in the trash. He checked each one to make sure. All those long white sticks showed only one pink line.

It had been six months since the doctor said this couple would have difficulty conceiving and suggested they continue trying anything in the pregnancy program they'd been following since the beginning of their marriage.

And it had been nearly a year since Yunho and Mingi got married. Yet, they hadn't succeeded, needing to try even harder.

"Mingi, come on, hurry up!"

Yunho's shout snapped Mingi out of his thoughts. He quickly threw away all the test packs and washed his hands thoroughly. He hurriedly walked over to Yunho.

He saw Yunho so enthusiastic, high-spirited, smiling widely with joy.

"Here." Yunho handed Mingi his wristwatch.

Mingi checked the time indicated by the analog watch as he put it on his left wrist. "Wait, it's still very early, isn't it?! Why are you so rushed as if we're already an hour late?"

"Today is the first day San is back to work!" Yunho still showed the same level of enthusiasm in his smile.

"Oh? Isn't he still in his postpartum period?"

"He said it's almost over. And it's been thirty days since Dahyun's birth. San feels healthy again now."

Oh, that makes sense. He has missed San a lot, and vice versa. Yes, they've both been looking forward to reuniting. They did see each other briefly when Yunho and Mingi visited San a month ago. However, Yunho missed having San by his side in the office, discussing work tasks together, chatting about others, having lunch together, and many other things. They were partners in crime.

Initially, Mingi didn't understand why, despite the negative results of all the pregnancy tests Yunho had tried this week, Yunho still showed joy on his face. It turns out that Yunho's best medicine is his friends and their kids.

Locking the door and gate, they half-ran on the small neighborhood road because Yunho eagerly pulled Mingi's arm.

"Yunho, don't run, we'll sweat. When we get to San's office, he won't want to hug you. Do you really want to have to shower again at the office?"

"Yeah, you're right." Yunho sighed in frustration and walked at a normal pace. Well, not really, he still quickened his steps a bit.

They arrived at the bus stop, got on the bus, and took seats at the back, sitting side by side. The vehicle moved, and they spent the journey engaged in light conversation.

"Sometimes we might be late. I need to buy a car or a motorcycle soon," Mingi said.

"No need to rush. We don't really need it right now. Besides, you know the taxes on cars and motorcycles in our country are very high. If only they were as cheap as in other countries. I would have bought my dream sports bike since school when I didn't have my own income because the tax wouldn't burden appa's financial issues too much."

"If they're too cheap, every road will be filled with private vehicles, and traffic jams will occur everywhere. The government made the best decision by raising vehicle taxes."

They continued their deep conversation about national issues and the stock market, which they had seen on the morning news while enjoying their breakfast.

Then, Mingi shifted the topic to matters related to their marriage.

"Yunho."

"Hm?"

"Don't you think ten pregnancy tests in one go is too much?"

"I have to make sure that all the pregnancy tests I use are functioning properly. Not damaged. What if the test is faulty, and I'm actually pregnant without realizing it? What then?"

"But three or even just two are enough. If you spend money buying ten test packs every week, it's wasteful."

"In that case, how about five?" Yunho made an offer.

"One or two will do."

"Alright, four?"

"Three. Don't negotiate further."

"Okay, deal."

Yunho leaned his head on Mingi's sturdy shoulder. Mingi caressed and played with Yunho's chubby cheeks, even though they were both mature, thirty-something men.

"Look at our friends; they all have two kids already. Seonghwa hyung even got three in one try. Hearing them share their happy stories with their children makes me jealous. Mingi, when will it be our turn? I also want to hold our own baby."

Mingi interlocked his fingers with Yunho's on his lap. No one witnessed it because their bags covered their entwined hands on Mingi's chest. "Be patient, love. Believe me, if we keep trying, we'll have our moment too someday. Don't give up." Mingi kissed Yunho's hand.

For a moment, he regretted bringing up this topic with Yunho.

And even though it was something small, he was determined to make it right.
