Kabanata 17

New

I was standing on the railing of the yacht all I could see was pure darkness and the wind was so cold that it sent shivers all throughout my body . The waves crashed against the side of the yacht, creating a rhythmic and powerful sound that echoed in the night. The stars, though hidden behind a thick layer of clouds, peeked through occasionally, adding an ethereal glow to the surrounding darkness.

The crew captain went down and stood in front of me.

It's less attention."

Tinulungan ako niya kuya makaka baba sa barko. the sea water is still up to my knees so I walk towards the shore embracing my bag full of money.

"Kuya, may malapit bang hotel dito?"

"Meron pong inn sa kabilang canto ma'am. Sakay lang kayo ng tricycle..."

It's still ten in the evening I think there's an open inn somewhere. Binalik ko ang aking bucket hat. Mabuti nalang at mayroon pang ticycle and dumadaan ng ganitong oras.

"One five, ang twelve hours namin with large bed and aircon, ma'am."

"I'll get that one..."

Inabot ko sa kanya ang pera she smiled and gave me the keys to my room. I thanked her warmly and turned towards the hotel stairs. The room was okay. All the furniture looks old and crumpy but It's a good place to spend the night with all the basic amenities provided. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, with clean sheets and a cozy duvet. The room had a small window that let in a decent amount of natural light, contributing to a pleasant ambiance.

I turn on the shabby aircon and open the bathroom door to find a clean and functional space. The towels were fresh and fluffy, and there were complimentary toiletries provided. Overall, despite the outdated furniture, the room exceeded my expectations in terms of comfort and cleanliness.

Maliit lang ang nadala kong damit. Just enough for a week's use.

If I can do it financially then I think I'll return to studying. Ibang kurso na ngayon.

I lay on my side, all of the memories from yesterday filled my mind. I smiled saddly and remember the baby I lost , feeling a mix of grief and love for the little one I never got to hold. The weight of what could have been pressed heavily on my heart, as I wondered about the future I would never witness and the dreams that would forever remain unfulfilled. Yet, in that bittersweet moment.

I remembered Ash... I buried my face on the pillow and tried to erase him from my memory.

Let's forget about it, Cera. Starting again involves erasing everything from the past, even your feelings for him. It's time to build a future that is free from the weight of the past.
