The next morning, I woke up feeling something pressing underneath me. I snuggled a bit more, trying to block out the sunlight that had invaded my room.

Wait, since when did sunlight come in here? I opened my eyes and discovered that I was half on the sofa, half on Jai's torso, with my right leg wrapped around his legs.

He was sleeping with half of his body on the sofa and the other half hanging in the air.

Glancing at the clock, it was 6:30 in the morning. I closed the curtains, attempting to move Jai entirely onto the sofa, but he was like a rock—too heavy for me to budge. Those abs and muscles weren't just for show, apparently.

I headed to brush my teeth and take a quick shower, realizing I had to leave for work.

Since I wasn't a breakfast person, I made some idlis for him. The batter was ready, so it didn't take much time. Sambhar and chutney joined the party, and I set everything on the table for him.

Returning to check on Jai, I found him now fully on the sofa.

I sighed in relief and covered him with a blanket. He looked so peaceful, working late nights and barely eating anything. Deserved some decent sleep, I thought.

I called Jai's assistant, letting her know he'd be coming in late. She was a snake most of the time but it was essential so I had to call her.

I wasn't sure if I had the authority to do that, but hey, desperate times call for desperate measures.

She seemed a bit weird about it, and it took me a moment to figure out why. Calling your boss's soon-to-be wife to say he won't make it on time might be interpreted differently. I chuckled to myself.

Leaving little notes with sweet compliments placed strategically around the house, I added a spare brush in the bathroom for Jai.

After getting ready in a cute cardigan and jeans, I left for the office with my iced coffee, my trusty companion.
