Terry's words swirled in Victoria's head, would he actually make it so Daniel didn't trust her? No they had gone through so much so they were get through this. She wouldn't allow him to ruin their relationship and her life.
Daniel couldn't stop thinking about the letter, he was confused on why Victoria hadn't told him but also a little mad. It made him think that she didn't trust him. Terry had told him that she was holding him back and maybe he was right, Victoria always hated what he did, she wanted to control him but Daniel hoped that he was wrong.
The boy grunted as Terry pushed his leg stretching him out.
"The bruise on your foot is gone. That's good. You're a fast healer." Terry pushed Daniel's leg one last time before getting up
Daniel rolled backwards onto his feet making Terry smile.
"That's a nice little move. Mr. Miyagi teach you that?" Daniel shook his head. "Uh-huh, no."
"No, I didn't think so." Terry chuckled before sighing. "What was the last thing Mr. Miyagi taught you?"
Daniel stood there stretching with Terry, "well we did Kata."
"Kata?" He asked. "Kata is good for working up a sweat. It's not gonna win the tournament. Come on over here. Hold the bag."
Terry started walking over to the bag, a smile covered his face as he decided to start his plan. He furrowed his eyebrows and looked back at the boy who was following as if he had a question.
"How's it been going with your girl?" Terry asked as if he was just inquisitive
Daniel looked confusedly up at Terry, why was he asking about Victoria all of the sudden?
"Is everything alright?" Terry asked as his stance softened and he placed his hand on Daniel's shoulder
"Could I tell you something?" Daniel asked and Terry nodded. "Anything."
"Well I found a letter addressed to her and I read it, it was a college acceptance letter." Daniel began. "I'm happy for her but the thing is, well she hasn't told me she was leaving. I think she's keeping secrets from me."
Terry nodded, "she came to me a couple of nights ago to tell me to stop training you and accused me of lying and manipulating you."
Daniel gulped harshly at Terry's words, he hadn't heard that either. His heart dropped wondering what else was Victoria keeping from him.
"I'm telling you this because you can't let her get into your mind, she's trying to mess you up." Terry placed his other hand on Daniel's shoulder caging the boy, Daniel looked up at Terry and nodded but sighed. "I don't want to lose her though."
"That's why you're here. If you win the tournament using Quick Silver, trust me Daniel she'll be all over you. Chicks love champions."
"You think so?" Daniel asked hopeful
"I know so Daniel but that means you can't tell her this or else she'll try to mess you up and you won't be able to claim your title. What's a little lying, it's not like she doesn't have secrets she's been keeping from you."
Daniel nodded, "you're right Mr. Silver. Thank you."
This was easier then he expected it to be, thanks to what little trust they already had of each other.
••••
Victoria sighed and walking into the house, it was getting closer to the tournament and Victoria was restless. It seemed like Daniel had been ignoring her more and more, and she was losing her boyfriend. Standing by the front door she waited for Daniel but he seemed not to come, until she heard movement behind her.
