Chapter 12: Lies

Victoria moved slowly just like Mr. Miyagi had taught her. She followed Mr. Miyagi as they did their kata, moving slowly. Victoria couldn't help but worry about Daniel, he had seemed angrier lately and his emotions were harder to control. The girl shook the worries from her head and continued moving, the sound of a car stopped pulling both Victoria and Mr. Miyagi from the kata.

"Daniel-San home." Miyagi answered and Victoria took a deep breath. "Yeah thank god."

They watched as he limped into the house, Victoria's stomach churned knowing that what she didn't want to happen had happened.

Daniel sat in his room, hissing as he looked down at his foot. It looked really bad now, worse then what it had before.

Daniel sighed and looked over at his pillow, furrowing his eyebrows as he saw something sticking out. Slowly he pulled it from under his pillow confused on why there was a letter hidden under his pillow. Slowly Daniel opened it and read what it said.

Dear, Victoria

Congratulations! It is a great pleasure to inform you of your acceptance to the law program at the University of Boston, Massachusetts. You have been given this opportunity in recognition of your personal and scholastic achievements.

Daniel gulped hard, staring at the letter as he read it over and over again. Victoria had been accepted to a college and hadn't told him, he wondered how long the letter had been there. A knock pulled him from his thoughts as he quickly shoved it under his pillow.

"Who is it?" He called trying to act normal

"It's Victoria and Mr. Miyagi." Victoria called and Daniel pulled the other pillow over his foot

He didn't need them worrying about him. "Hey, Mr. Miyagi, uh why don't you come in?"

Victoria opened the door seeing Daniel laying on the bed, a pillow covering his feet. Victoria sighed as they walked in, Daniel's hands were behind his head as it looked like he was doing sit-ups.

"Just catching up on some sit-ups here. You know, it's not easy when you're training yourself." He grunted

Victoria gulped, she hadn't seen Daniel that much since he started training for the tournament. He left soon after the woke up and returned late at night.

"Daniel-San, what happened foot?" Miyagi asked holding a kettle of water and a bowl of foot powder

Daniel stopped looking up at the two, "what foot?" He asked before Victoria grabbed the pillow pulling it from his feet

The girl's face fell seeing how bad it was, and she grabbed her side. Her pain was gone but the mark was still there, it was faint but you could still see it. Daniel looked at his foot trying to play it off like he just saw it.

"Wow! Look at that! I don't know. Maybe I banged it in my sleep. I don't remember. I just..." Miyagi put the bowl down and poured the warm water into the bowl. "What is that?"

"You soak foot. Be better tomorrow." Miyagi said

Daniel questioned, "why? You got a new foot in there for me?"

"No. Next best thing. New foot powder." Miyagi said pouring the tub of foot powder in the bowl, it bubbled and fizzed up

Daniel waved the air trying to get rid of the smell. "Smells like old foot powder. What's in there."

"Better you don't know." Miyagi answered before Victoria sighed. "Give me your foot."

Daniel sighed and moved his foot towards Victoria, she looked at how bad it was trying to conceal her expression but was having a hard time. Slowly she lowered his foot into the bath only for him to try and pull it out.
