Xander's POV

"Psst mom." I enter their room and check that the coast is clear of dad

"He's showering. What's up?"

"I know you guys want us to spend the day together as a family but I've been feeling overstimulated by all the people constantly being in the house so I was wondering if you could talk dad into letting me stay home alone. I won't go anywhere I promise."

"I can see what I can manage but I can't make any promises."

"Thanks You're the best." I hugged her before going downstairs

"Morning virgin."

"Nikolai you're a virgin too so fuck off."

"But, I'm not scared of sex."

"Neither am I! And fyi I might have the house to myself today. So enjoy that stupid ass nickname while it lasts!" I turned around to go up to my room when I bumped into dedushka 

"Fuck." I cursed at myself

"You shouldn't announce what you're going to do before you do it."

"I wasn't being serious. I just wanted Niko to be quiet." I explained

"So you didn't ask Mabel to convince Aleksandr to leave you home alone?"

"Well I did but I was gonna play video games." I lied

"You're not staying home."

"That's not for you to decide. If dad says yes I'll stay home."

I flinched at his glare

"Don't cower. You're a Volkov not a bitch." Adriana taunted me

"Watch your mouth JJ." Gramps smacked the back of her head

"Ugh why are you even here you fossil?" She asked him

"Excuse me? I'm not that old you little asshole."

"Granny told you to stop calling me that."

"Stop whining."

"What are you doing here dad?" Dad asked

"I was going to ask to borrow Adriana until I heard an interesting plan from my scheming grandson."

"His plot to stay home? He heard it." Mom told him

"No the part where he's going to lose his virginity while he had the house to himself."

Dad sent me an irritated glance

"You're not staying home alone today or ever."

"Why do you guys insist on cockblocking all the time? Isn't the point of being made about fucking and drinking? We already drank together so how am I supposed to be a made mafia man if I'm a virgin forever?"

"This is why I told you not to party with immature children." Dad spat

"You're not in our mafia Xander. Which doesn't make you a mafia man."

"But I'm a Volkov."

"So is Alessio and Haruhi."

"Haruhi is the mafia's princess though."

"Not until she debuts in the underworld. You guy don't even go to balls because Aleksandr wants to maintain normalcy."

"Does Adriana go to those?"

"Not until she swears omertà next December. However unlike you and Nikolai, she is a made mafia woman. You want to know why? Because being a mafia man or woman is about being ruthless. Adriana can kill with or without command. She's willing to do whatever it takes to protect her family and the interests of this mafia. Can you take a life? Can you torture someone and watch as the life drains from their eyes? You two only think about sex and until you mature you'll never be half as useful to this family as Adriana is."
