Adriana's POV
It's mine and Xander's first day of senior year, Alessio's first day of eight grade, and Nikolai's first day of junior year.
I just finished getting dressed in my uniform which is a white button down shirt with a black tie and black and white plaid skirt. I'm also wearing pantyhose and tall combat boots.
"I don't wanna go!"
"Volkovs don't whine." Dima told me
"What's the point of me going to senior institute? I'm already in college!"
"Dual enrollment doesn't guarantee you a spot in the school and you need that class to graduate."
I groan dramatically while grabbing my backpack and leave to wait in Xander's car.
In tenth grade I finished taking all my regents and corresponding AP classes. Then this summer I got accepted into Columbia university's college edge program. It lets students take college courses while in high school so they can earn college credit. I also did summer school and my high school so I could complete my 11th grade requirements to begin twelfth grade this year.
Dad and I had a meeting with my guidance counselor prior to the start of the college fall semester to sort out my schedule. I'm taking four college classes at Columbia University this semester. My school is giving me credit in the subjects I'm taking at the university so I'm still on track to graduate fine. The only class I'm need is senior institute which is a mandatory elective for seniors. I'm annoyed because I have to go to high school every morning only for first period. After that I have to commute to campus to attend one to two classes a day.
That doesn't seem like a lot but I can already tell commuting back and forth is gonna be a bitch and a half.
My days are gonna comprise of getting dropped off at High school, enduring first period, leaving to college, attend an hour and a half class, then run to a different building to either study or attend my next two hour class, then commuting back to high school for cheer or wrestling, finally going home just to do homework and sleep or go to judo before that. Then the cycle would repeat the next day.
During the summer I had it easy. I would attend my two high school classes Monday and Wednesday then attend my two college courses Tuesday and Thursday. It worked out great.
I tried to request having my senior institute class in the afternoon so I wouldn't have to go back and forth so much but they're only scheduling that class in the morning during the fall. I'm gonna have to wait til spring to potentially change.
"Why do you pick a fight first thing in the morning?" Niko groaned as he got in the car
"I didn't pick a fight."
"Yes you did. You know how high strung mom gets school mornings." Alessio added
"Whatever, I was just voicing my thoughts."
"And you can do that, just not first thing in the fucking morning. He bit all our heads off over stupid shit because you pissed him off." Xander told me
"Sorry."
At School
After Xander dropped us off he drove off to meet up with Kai. The rest of us when to our respective classrooms. I'm stuck in a senior institute with Tyler and his friends. Tyler is alright but his friends are obnoxious as fuck. There's a girl in the group who's Luna 2.0. The issue is that she's more likable than Luna. She's class secretary and pretends to be a girls girl but treats most girls like shit to look cool in front of boys.
