Xander's POV
"Dude, I heard you asked Lily to prom!" Gemma says
"Yeah, I did." I nodded
"I didn't even know you two were dating. Doesn't she have a boyfriend?" Lenny asked
"No they broke up a while ago."
"Careful you're treading in rebound territory." Andy concluded
"Why are you guys interrogating him anyways?" Judah asked them
"His breakup is still pretty fresh. We just don't feel like he should be rushing into anything serious."
"That's not for you to decide." I told them
"You're dating but you've never spoken to Lily before now."
"That's not true at all. Lily is on the girls travel team so he's known her since he moved to New York. Our team is really close to her team since we're in the same age group. Both teams travel to away games and tournaments together. We hangout with Lily on a nearly weekly basis. Lily is one of our closeted friends." Mac explained
"But she doesn't talk to you guys. What do you guys do together, sit in silence?"
"She's a pretty reserved person but in reality, Lily is unhinged when she's comfortable enough to let her crazy show."
"If you guys are so close to her why are we just now hearing about her?" Courtney asked
"I was wondering the same thing. Lily and Xander don't even look at each other at school. She's literally sitting a table away from us!" Lenny pointed out
I looked over at Lily who was sitting by herself. Our eyes met and she crossed her eyes while sticking out her tongue. I motioned for her to come over.
She sent me a crazy look and shook her head.
I took out my phone to text her
Did you tell people about me taking you to prom (:
Did you hit your head at practice?
I don't have friends at school
The girls somehow found out and are making a big fuss about it.

I looked up and watched her grab her backpack before leaving. I got up and followed behind her. I found her digging through her locker.
