Aleksandr's POV
"Speaking of Royal wedding how was the visit to the wedding planner this weekend?" Mom asked Mabel
"Amazing, everything feels so real now." She answered
Flashback to Saturday
"Where are we going Bunny?" My curious fiancé asks
"It's a surprise."
"You look hot. I feel underdressed."
"You're dressed perfectly fine." I tell her
She was wearing a white cropped shirt that tied in the front with blue washed jeans. She was wearing all white converse which I learned was one of her obsessions. Her hair was in two bubble braids which I thought was really cute.
I was wearing a black T-shirt with black pants with a belt the kids bought me this year on my birthday. Nothing special but it was enough to draw attention from other women
"So much effort goes into me looking this cute and you just throw on a random shirt and boom! Muscles and veins!"
"I'm very self conscious of my veiny arms. A paper cut could kill me." I told her and she giggled
"Veins are hot. You could put any woman in a chokehold and they'd say thank you."
I couldn't help but laugh at her theatrics
"You pull in the same amount of attention as I do."
"Duh have you seen me? The difference is that I have to try and you don't."
"Bambi I assure you, you don't have to try. Also my appearance isn't effortless. I may not do my brows or curl my lashes but I wake up every morning to workout before work. My day always has to begin two to four hours earlier no matter how tired I am. This has been my life since I turned ten. I wish I could stay in bed with you in the morning but I feel like a waste of space if I don't start my day with a workout." I admitted
"You don't like working out?"
"I fucking hate it but I have to do it."
"What about when you working in the hospital?"
"That was the joy of working 80 plus hours. I had a good reason to skip the workout." I smiled
"I mean you're a busy man so you can skip every now and again."
"I already have rest days. If I took more I'd lose all the muscles you love and I promise you the veins aren't as hot without them."
She didn't say much. She just stared at me with a slight pout. I gently squeezed her thigh while asking
"What?"
"You're really hard on yourself."
"No I'm not." I shook my head
"But you are. You never give yourself grace."
"I do."
"Give me an example." She raised a brow
"I can't think of one on the spot but that doesn't mean I don't."
"Whatever you say Bunny."
We arrived at the office building the wedding planner worked out of. I parked on the street and walked hand in hand to the business space. People were staring at us as we walked but we ignored them.
When we entered the office we walked up to the receptionist and I gave my last name. She instructed us to sit on the bench so we did.
"I love you so much." She told me when she figured out the surprise.
