Chapter 38

Haruhi's POV

"Rise and Shine sweetheart. Today is a very important day for you." I'm gently woken up by dad

"What time is it?" I groan

"Seven thirty." He responded

I wanted to scream! Why am I up so early on my day off.

"Tasha and Mabel are waiting for you downstairs."

"Okay, I'm gonna take a quick shower first."

He nodded before leaving my room.

One hour later

The three of us are at the hair salon getting ready for Mabel's engagement party. she's been grinning all day. It's cute to see how excited she is.

"I'm so excited for you to see the dress Tasha and I picked out for you!"

I was in Moscow until yesterday so I wasn't able to pick out a dress.

"If you two like it, I know I'll love it."

"How is work Haru?"

"It's really good. I honestly have no complaints beside being away from the kids and Audrey."

After the whole menu debacle Natasha was able to get me a really good salary at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. She also helped Audrey get a good salary at the Paris Opera Ballet in France. She loves it there too.

"I thought you two switched to the Royal ballet in England together." Mabel spoke

"No during our summer break we were invited to teach masterclasses as guest teachers. It was really fun and our living expenses were covered. Now she's in Paris and I'm back in Moscow."

"She'll be at the gala tonight."

"I know! I'm so excited. Tonight is a big night. How are you holding up?" I asked Mabel

"Our engagement has been public news for over a year now. In that time Aleksandr and I have grown to truly love and respect each other. Tonight feels like an announcement of a real engagement if that makes any sense." She gushed

"It does. This party will be the first real celebration of the love you two have for each other." mom responded

"I never thought I'd live to see the day my brother settled. I'm glad he has you."

"Sorry to interrupt madam Volkov but what would you like done with your hair." The stylist politely interrupted

"We're just here for a wash, blow dry, and cut." Mom spoke

She already hired someone to style our hair and makeup at the mansion.

Now that our hair is washed and dried, it was time for our haircuts. Mom and Mabel got a maintenance cut. I on the other hand decided I wanted bangs.

"You look really good with bangs." Mabel complimented

"Thanks, I used to be obsessed with bangs until I botched my own attempt at them in high school. I stopped after that."

"You and me both."

At home

After our hair appointment we went and got our nails done. I was told my dress was red so I got red ombré stiletto nails. I like them a lot. We're in the mansion now getting ready for the gala that begins in two hours.

"Okay so this is your dress. We had it tailored to the measurements you sent us. What do you think?" Mabel asked while holding up a gorgeous red dress.
