countless attempts to find another one,
i tried, but the hope's end has begun,
real was the ache, deep in the bones,
engraved like a name on my headstone;
just to think of who shall I love,
and who have a charm, so unheard of,
nothing, but only appears in mind,
the same five letters, the same guy.
horrified I stood, hearing howls of yesterday,
ordeals I’ve dealt to vamoose naivete,
nestled in the dark was, for sure, him,
yet this figure I see thrived so grim,
disaster will come forth, I know,
if I let heart be taken by his shadow,
whispers of his voice, his lifeless wraith,
aiming for my endless, bleeding scathe.
then, I caught my hand tied to another,
against all the truths, already uncovered,
on that night, I suppose to forget,
my healing set to fail, soon to regret,
I still fall on the same one I’ve known,
that I know no one can replace his throne,
and I still let his ghost here to wander,
pleasing my heart held captive in somber.
