Chapter 8: Suspicions and trusting

I came to my office before going to The Outset's, since I had to take a few things I needed.

When the doors of the elevator opened, I found Pedro with Kate talking, I thought he was a busy person

"Good morning" I said, shaking Pedro's hand and giving Kate a Kiss.

"Hi Celia, I thought you were working with Scarlett and Kate again" Kate said

"I had to take a few things from the office first, but I'm leaving now, so you have the office for you two" Kate rolled her eyes and Pedro chuckled.

"Not really, Theo and Thomas are also here working" Oh, right, I forgot they were going to stay with us for some time. I nodded and walked into my office.

"How is the work with The Outset going?" I heard Pedro ask

"It's very Good, but I Will take a lot of time, they a lot of products that I have to study, also the new ones and..."

"Oh, are they landing something new?" He interrupted me, something I did not apreciate

"Yes" I answered cold.

"And what is it about?"

"Why are you this interested in their products? Are you worried that they can steal Elizabeth Arden's clients or what?" I inquired, putting everything I needed in my purse.

"Well, you know how the market Works, Celia. And if you can have some advantage, the better, right?" He said with a mischevious smile that I didn't like a bit.

"I can't tell you what they are doing, you should know that" I started walking to the door to leave my office, but he stood in the middle.

"Celia, you don't owe them anything. I don't want to give all the detatils, that would be amazing, though, just tell me a Little bit about it, come on"
"I said no, Pedro."
"Do I have to remind you why do you have more investors and people interested in your company?" He asked, now much more serious, what the fuck is his problem.

"Are you threatening me?" I asked as serious as him

"Who is threatening who?" Kate asked suddenly, worried.

"It's nothing, Kate. I just asked Celia about the new product The Outset was going to land, but she doesn't want to tell me anything."
"Because that's something private, you just want to know to do the same thing first or the steal the idea or whatever!" I said, almost yelling, making Pedro chuckled and Kate looked more worried. She took me from the arm to her office, asking Pedro for a minute.

"What the hell is going on?" She asked after closing the door.

"I don't trust that guy. He literally said do I have to remaind you why so many people is interested in you now?, that was a threat, Kate. And it was Austin the one that invited us to the party where we could meet Scarlett and the other people. And it was his partner, Henry, the one that introduced you the people, not Pedro." She sighed and sit on her sofa.

"Yes, it was Henry the one that introduced Pedro and me, but Pedro is the reason why have two more people working with us in here, and they are very good" I was about to talk but she told me to shut up with her hand

"Also. I don't like either what Pedro just told, I'll talk with him when you leave."

"But?" I asked, I know there is something else.

"But, it's normal that he is asking you. I mean, he is an importan partner from Elizabeth Arden, and this past year, The Outset became their most serious opponent, and only because its owned by a famous actress, not because of their quality"
