Chapter 19: Don't think and dance

Celia's POV

It was friday already, I feel much better today after that random virus I had. I couldn't stop thinking about how sweet Scarlett was, coming to take care of me even though they have a lot of work with their new product and, once again, we almost kiss but we were interrupted. Is the universe sending us a signal?

Kate has been teasing me about it since then, making jokes even in front of Austin and Pedro, who didn't understand a shit. Usually it ended with Kate and I laughing like freaks and them giving us side-eyes.

Tomorrow will be the day, I have the feeling, and I couldn't be more terrified. It looks like she also wants it, but the fact that maybe after it she could change her thinking... Does it help me think like this? Nope. Can I avoid being this dumb? Hell nah. I'll just let it fluid, or, at least, I'll try to.

I was now in my office, we had a meeting with Pedro, Austin and some other people about how we are getting more into the market, it's going pretty well actually. It kind of surprised me the amount of people that think the same as us about the fact that artificial intelligence shouldn't be used to substitute humans in every ambit, just to help. Unless it's something like factories or whatever.

My work with The Outset is basically done, Kate was helping me with some details so it looks cute, and that will be it. It makes me sad that I will stop going there to work It was a very nice place, with a very nice atmosphere, they were like a family. I guess I could visit them from time to time... Right? Most of the time I work alone with my computer so, I could also work there, I'll talk about it with Scarlett.

I was about to go leave, Kate was coming to my place to get ready for tonight, and, by the way, I have no idea where are going. But, my phone started tu buzzle.

"Hello?" I asked, putting everything in my purse so I could leave.

"Hi Miss Santos, this is Mr. Page, I have found some interesting things about why you can't get in contact with your father" Okay I was not expecting this.

"And? What is it?"

"It's a bit delicate to speak about it like this. Does the name of Gonzalo Fernandez sound familiar?" I stayed in the spot thinking about it, but nothing.

"No, not a bit."

"Well, try to think a bit harder about it this weekend, okay? It could be important. Are you available on Monday at 13:00?"

"Yes" I answered without thinking. I wrote the name on a random posit of my table to look for information about this guy later.

"Perfect, I'll see you on monday then, have a good weekend Miss Santos"

"Thank you, have a good weekend Mr. Page"

He hunged up then. I left my office with my eyes on the posit. Gonzalo Fernandez? It's a very common name in Spain, who the hell is this person?

"Hey, what are you looking at? Who is Gonzalo Fernandez?" Kate asked, taking me out of my trance. She was next to me, Pedro was holding the elevator for us.

"Honestly, I have no idea, I'll explain it to you later" She nodded and we went together into the elevator. Pedro put his arm around Kate and gave her a kiss on the top of her head.

"Do you want me to leave so you have the elevator for you two?" I asked smirking, making Pedro blush.

"Actually..."

"Kate!"

We both started laughing, Pedro was getting redder and redder. Poor man, he must be discovering the sense of humor of Kate now
