My mind stirred. I had slowly started to wake up, my body being extremely stiff. I sat up, placing a hand on my shoulder, massaging it slowly.
I looked over at the time, to see it had been 13 minutes past my mealtime. I didn’t think less of it, as my meals were usually skipped daily.
I rubbed my eyes before letting them adjust to the light once again. I looked up, causing my body to flinch. Felix had been leaning against a wall, in the corner of my rom.
I went to speak but I quickly stopped when I saw a young man standing next to him. I’m unsure how I didn’t see him sooner, or who he even was, but I wasn’t sure if I should question it. I bowed quickly, before hearing a voice.
“Sit up.”
Felix had said quickly, and I just that. I looked at the man, studying his appearance. He was taller than Felix, with semi-longer hair. It was half red, and half black, with a solid black beat down cape behind him. His body was fine, as he had on solid black clothing, along with these beautiful earrings.
I said as I looked to the side of him. There was a tall, fine man standing there. He had longer hair, split half black and half red. He wore a black beat down cape, with black pants and these beautiful earrings. Along with many other handmade-looking jewelry on.
“This is my… assistant. I found him lurking when I walked out of your room earlier. He had no choice to help me unless he wanted to meet death.”
I looked at him in fear, what does he mean by assistant? Is he ok? Are there going to be 2 people now giving these cruel punishments? Or is he going to stand there and watch what he does?
“Assistant how?”
I said in a confused tone as I tried to stand up. I never took my eyes off the two, I was too worried that I forgot about the wound in my leg, I stood up and I ended up tripping and falling onto the ground. I sat up and sat on my knees. I winced in pain as I looked at my hands. There were little glass pieces stuck. It felt like little needles sticking in my skin over and over.
I looked up to see Felix offering his hand. When I grabbed his hand, I ended up cutting him.
“Oh no I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to hurt you!”
Oh crap, 2 things he hates in a single sentence. He let out a big sigh as he held onto me tight, pulling me up. He held my body close, keeping my in his arms, skin to skin. It was a little too close for my comfort. What’s going on, he never does this. I looked up at him in confusion.
“W-what’s going—”
“Meet my assistant! He’s going to be helping you with medical stuff and remembering to feed you! Don’t bother asking me what his name is. I don’t know, I don’t care, and I won’t remember, got that dear?”
I looked at him in fear as I nodded.
“Oh! And don’t bother getting to attached. I think you know what will happen.”
He looked with a sinister look, showing no mercy. I can’t even tell if he’s joking. This man is a cruel human being. And that’s the nicest way to describe him. He held my hand as he placed the other on my face. He kissed my head and squeezed my hand very tightly. That was his way of saying he’d do way more and differently if his little assistant wasn’t there but I’m not too sure. If I’m correct I’m glad, he was here.
“Now you… man! Get this dear all healed up, her hand is bleeding, and her leg needs new bandages. Got that?”
The fine man nodded. Felix set me down on the bed then walked out the door, he whispered something to the man, but I couldn’t hear. He was too quiet, and I was to focused on staring into the other man’s eyes. The fine male started walking towards me. My heart was beating faster and faster.
“H-hey. What’s your name? My names ka—”
“Kamilla. I know. Oh, I’ve heard lots of stories about you.”
I looked up at him in confusion.
“What do you mean, stories?”
“Oh, I know everything about you. You could say I’ve watched you from afar.”
He sat next to me, as he took my hand and started pulling the little glass shards out. The room went silent for a minute, other than my small grunts from pain. I didn’t know what to say, what does me mean he’s been watching me? He was wrapping my leg up, as he started to smirk.
“Cat got your tongue?”
“W-what no! I just, don’t know how to respond to that…”
“Well don’t worry. We are all finished here. Here’s your lunch by the way.”
He pulled out a loaf of bread. This is the most food I’ve gotten in a while, and I think it showed. My eyes lit up as I carefully took the bread and started devouring it. He got up and started picking up the glass from the floor. 10 minutes had gone by and there he was, stood there watching me.
“Why are you still here? Is there something else you need?”
“Oh damn, am I not allowed to stay and help a pretty girl like you out?”
“I—”
“I’m kidding I’m kidding; I’m supposed to stay and make sure you don’t choke or starve yourself. Eat until you’re full.”
“Oh, I’m pretty much done, if you want to take the rest.?”
I handed him the other half of the loaf. I full but I knew I would end up throwing up.
“Oh great! You can have the other half for dinner.”
He took the loaf and started walking out the door.
“Oh wait! You never told me your name! What is it?”
“Goodbye Kamilla.”
“I—”
He walked out the door, with the creepy old, squeaky hinges making an appearance once again. I was so confused I didn’t know what to say or do. I lay down as my stomach growled in satisfaction. I started getting sleepy even though it was only 1:36pm.
The only reason I know is from the old, rusted clock on the wall. I heard a stuffed stomach can make you sleepy, but I never knew it was true, nor have ever experienced this before. But can a stomach full of food, give a fast heart rate? Hot cheeks? This bundle of anxiety in my stomach? What was this?
