Lucien had said with a stern look on his face. My eyes had widened as I looked at him confused.
“Who’s here? What was that noise?”
“Him.”
He had given me a look. I quickly understood, it was Felix and his men. Another loud boom was heard. I wasn’t ready for battle, I still needed time to train, but at this point, there was no avoiding it. I quickly stood up, grabbing my bow, with Lucien. We were careful and cautious as we had no clue who was around.
Our footsteps were quiet, but theirs were dead silent. The tension within the air was noticeable.
I had searched the surrounding area, as I quickly kept guard, keeping a look out. I had my bow loaded, as I shot a few men who had been noticed.
Lucien had turned around, staring directly at Felix. Lucien had let out a menacing laugh as his wings spread out. But wait, wings? They had looked like a fallen angel. A fallen angel was unheard of in this day of age. Not after a group had wiped them all away.
“Oh, how long I’ve waited for this moment.”
“Look who it is, the weak little boy, who thinks he’s all tough, when in reality, he’s just a disappointment. A fallen angel in a family of devils? How pathetic.”
I watched as the two talked back and forth, I saw Lucien’s anger rising, just how Felix wanted. I stayed hidden as I watched the interaction.
“Just give me the girl and we will leave, and maybe I’ll think about sparing your kingdom.”
Lucien had let out snare his eyes giving a deadly glare at him.
“Never! I vowed my life to protect her! Do you think I’d give it up now because of a few horses?”
Felix gave a small smirk, as he signaled for his men come out of the shadows, and attack. Assassins and soldiers of all kinds came rushing down, swinging swords, and arrows around. We had both fought back. We had no army, yet instead only each other.
I stayed afar, as I shot arrows around to the men. Lucien on the other hand was using hand to hand combat. He swung his psyche around, as men dropped. He was fast, as it was obvious the men struggled to keep up. A few shots had landed on him, but it only fueled his need for blood.
Screamed, blood, metal clashing, it was all heard from a long distance. His men had started to close in on us, as hundreds upon hundreds were circling the kingdom. Lucien was able to hold them off, but there was only so much I could do. I watched as a psychotic side started to come out of him.
I panicked, knowing I had to come out of hiding to help him. I ran over, staying close.
“What the hell are you doing? You can’t be here right now!”
Lucien had said in a stern voice, as he kept fighting off soldiers. I helped hold them off, as I rolled my eyes.
“I’m not letting you die down here!”
I yelled, as arrows flew past us. I had been throwing knives, and shooting arrows back, before something snapped in Lucien. He was going faster than id ever seen before as the men started to fall at a faster rate. I started to have hope, as hours had passed of fighting.
During that time frame, we had gotten separated. I had killed the last soldier near me. I took a deep breath, before feeling a pair of hands wrap around my mouth. My eyes widened as I let out a muffled scream.
