The date was October 7th, 1847. I was sound asleep, as the ground started to shake. I stirred, before hearing a loud boom. My room was pitch back, with the occasional moonlight slipping through the cracks of the curtains.
Another loud boom was heard, as the ground shook a few times. I sat up quickly, causing a huge headache to appear, followed by burry vision. I held my head, carefully standing up. I felt the vibrations underneath my feet, as I walked towards the window.
The view was dark, other than the scattered bright and blurry orange light, with hints of yellow fire throughout the kingdoms field. I watched as arrows shot across the land, some followed by a splash of blood.
I stepped backwards as I felt a wave of unease come across me. One hand went to my stomach, while the other went to my mouth as I watched as this dark red substance splatter on my window. I felt sick.
My hands started to shake, as I panicked. We were under attack, and I couldn’t do anything. I’m only a child. I had to sit back and watch my people die.
Tears formed in my eyes quickly while my body trembled. I watched the castle shake again; this time it was closer. Rocks and dust fell from the ceiling and onto everything I owned.
“Teddy!”
I cried as I ran to my bed, grabbing the stuffed bear I had gotten for my 5th birthday. I hugged it as tight as I could, as I leaned against the wall to stable myself.
The door swung open, as I watched my father run towards me.
“Daddy! I’m scared!”
I trembled as I felt him wrap his arms around my in a tight embrace.
“Hey shh… calm down my princess, it’s okay, you’re okay.”
I could hear the pain and fear in his voice as he spoke, everything wasn’t okay, but he didn’t want to scare me more than I already was. I cried in his arms, as I heard footsteps. I opened my eyes to look at the doorway.
Everything felt like it was in slow motion, I tried to scream but it was too late. I heard my father’s breath hitch, as his grip on me loosened. Tears welded in my eyes, as I saw a man in dark clothing slip out from the shadows, pulling the blade out from my father’s back.
I choked on my tears, feeling a lump form in my throat. I watched my father use his last breath to speak to me.
“Take this and rule the world, Kamilla. My dear princess,”
I shook my head, as I watched him hold a silky red bow out in his hands. I took the bow, as tears fell like waterfalls.
“No, daddy you can’t leave me!”
I heard a low and menacing chuckle come from the mysterious man, as my father dropped dead. I looked at the man slowly approached me. I stepped back, but it was no use, I was trapped against the wall.
“P-please! Don’t hurt me!”
The man let out a low scoff as he stared at me.
“I don’t like children who beg.”
I trembled in fear, but that only caused his desire to grow. He gripped me by the collar of my shirt, before slamming my head against the wall. It felt like the word was spinning.
It was near impossible to get a look of his face, if it weren’t for the faint orange light from the fire, shining from the cracks of my curtains. My ears started to ring as it felt like I was falling. I felt my eyes get heavy as I tried to stay awake, but it was no use. I blacked out.
My consciousness was fading in and out. At one moment, I’m hung over the man’s shoulder, then the next moment I was on the back of a horse with this mysterious man, riding away from my burning kingdom.
I couldn’t scream or squirm. I couldn’t even fight back. I was hopeless and my body felt as if it weighed infinity.
I watched ass my kingdom was burning to ash, along with all my loved ones. All my family, my belongings, my memories, it was gone. I was the last one to see the kingdom of Le Pur. The last time I got to see my kingdom, my home.
