"I don't think I understand" i interject as multiple faces turn to look at me

"We want to change the marketing budget for April, maybe lower in by 10% or so and push it towards sales" Elena restates

Currently I was in a meeting to discuss new budgets and strategy changes for the month of April.

"No I understand that, I don't understand why. Marketing is a massive part of this company our budget shouldn't be lowered especially when we have two new very important companies that we partnered with both of which marketing and content is a massive part in the success of said partnership" I assert firmly but still being careful not to come off rude or inappropriate

"Magnolia we do understand that it's less than ideal for your department and for yourself but the deal we made with meta is 70 percent sales and 30% marketing. The sales department has found it difficult to meet the requirements for the deal hence our decision" Andrew, another board member says

"Is this a permanent solution or just for April?" I ask as Andrew and Elena look at each other then to Stefan the third board member who was in attendance

"It won't be a permanent solution but a 6 month short term solution, we want to provide them with the resources to get back on track before going back to the normal budget strategy. Until then we know you will make everything work to the best of your ability and any extra help you need we will provide." Stefan reassures me as I nod my head and make a note to adjust our budget plans

The rest of the meeting goes by slowly as I was upset and quite frankly dreading making a new budget plan as it took an unreasonable amount of time to do so

The meeting finally concluded and as I was on my way out after picking up my laptop and notebook I was stopped by the board members

"Maggie stay behind for just a minute" Elena requests as i nod

"We are very sorry about the situation, in the end it was Brianna's choice. Not to point fingers but she just thought it was a better investment because she knows how hard of a worker you are and she knows you'll manage" Stefan explains as I frown

"I'm very happy she thinks I'm a hard worker but this is just so unrealistic, and I'm not even talking about Ferrari or meta, but Greatwood is costing us a good chunk of our budget, and it's maintainable I guess but I don't know how long it will be and if Brianna decides to do another partnership in the next 6 months we will most definitely have to revisit this idea of hers" I say and the three of them nod

"Again we understand that this is less than ideal but we all agreed to this because we all know you. And Freya are more than capable of getting it done and done correctly." Elena says

"We will most certainly do our best, when do you guys they want the new budget plan?" I ask

"Anytime in the first week of April will do" Elena responds and I note that in my head

"Okay well I will get right on it and let Freya know, thank you guys for the support" I smile and grab my mug waving to them as I exit the meeting room

I wasn't even mad but frustrated because of the change.

"How was the meeting" Paul asks as I walk into the office and he's sitting at Freyas desk going through paperwork

"They cut out budget 10 percent, sales got the money  because Meta are demanding more sales of the products and they fell a bit behind so the board is giving them more resources to help." I explain as he groans
