Chapter 54- uno

"Okay I'm gonna head back to my room,I'll see you lot tomorrow" Ben says leaving just mason Christian joao and I.

"Yeah I'm going to go back too, I need to have a shower" mason says standing up and waving to us all and exiting after Ben

After the door shuts a series of awkward glances are exchanged before I make the decision to excuse myself momentarily.

"I need to call Paul and see where he is I'll be back in a second." I say standing up and walking out to the balcony and call Paul

"Paul." I say as he answers the phone

"Magnolia, what's going on?" He asks as i sigh

"Nothing, I just wanted to check in on you" I say looking out at the sky

"Everything is good, I think I'll be back soon. Maybe an hour or so, you really should've came out tonight. It's just Logan, Oscar, Alex, George,Lando and I. Lewis was here but he left a little while ago." He says as I laugh

"I'll catch you all at the next one." I say as he agrees

"Well I'll let you get back.see you in an hour" I say

"See you Maggie" he says as I hang up

I walk back inside and now it's just João, sitting on the couch staring at the floor.

"Ah they pulled this one on us." I laugh as he looks up and smiles as I come back to the couch and sit a respectable distance away from him

"I'll just say it, I'm sorry for the way I handled things between us. My intention was not to grow distance but to give you and you're relationship space. So you could figure it out without interference." I explain

"I know, but you could've told me, I thought you just didn't want anything to do with me after the phone call we had when you were flying home." He says as I shake my head

"No, no. It's not like that, i promise. It's just weird right now." I shrug

"What's weird? Us?" He asks

"No, It's just the last few months I've had a weird thing going on and it ended recently and I just think that I'm not ready for anything new." I explain as he nods

"I know. I'm not sure I am either, but I know I want to give us a shot. So I'll wait for you if you wait for me" he says

"I can do that, when the time is right we can give each other a call or maybe if I'm near you I'll pay you a visit" I say as he smiles and stands up

I stand up aswell and he pulls me into a hug." Thank you" I whisper

"For what." He asks As I pull back

"For understanding" I smile

(Quali day)

"As much as I would love to say I know what your talking about that would be a lie, I don't know what you're talking about." I say to Lando as he's trying to explain how monumental it was when Sebastian vettel moved to Ferrari

"Okay it's like if Messi went to Real Madrid." He compares

"Ohhhhh, I understand. So now that would be like if Lewis moved to Ferrari." I say as he nods

"Monumental." He says simply as I laugh

" hey don't you have to go?" I ask pointing to the clock as he groans

"I guess, wish me luck." He says quickly getting up

"Good luck" I say exiting his driver room with him as he turns one way and I turn the other

I walk out of the mclaren garage and quickly over to Ferrari just to see Paul, when I enter he's on Carlos's side thankfully, and he's talking with Taryn.

"Hey Maggie" she smiles as I walk over and give her a hug

"How are you?" I ask

"Good, how about you?" She asks

"I'm alright, enjoying the weekend from a spectator perspective." I smile

"Yeah its much more enjoyable when you don't have anything on your plate." She says as I nod

"Oh hey Paul you're here too." I joke as he rolls his eyes

"Where are you watching from?" Taryn asks

"Mclaren, I have some friends who are at redbull so I might hangout with them for Qualifying. I don't know yet." I shrug  as she nods

"Ditching the little black horse for the weekend?" She jokes

"Yeah just a little change in scenery was what I needed and man, nobody told me the mclaren garage is so cold. I could've used that in Bahrain" I joke

"I'm pretty sure it's something to do with driver preference, both drivers probably want it to be an ice box." She laughs

"It would make sense."I say back

"But we miss you over here, even though it's insanely hot." She says

"Yeah I miss you too, I'll be back for spa don't worry." I say

"I though you were going to come to Budapest." She asks

"Yeah I was, but my friend is graduating law school and his celebration lands on that weekend so I'm out." I explain

"Well spa it is then, I need to go double check a video, but it's great to see you." She smiles and gives me a hug and I hug her back then she goes down the hallway in the back of the garage

"I should probably go back now." I say as Paul nods

"I'll be here if you need me. I'll text you where to meet when this is done tjough." He says and I nod

"Alright bye Paul." I say and walk away from him and out of the garage

I get back to the mclaren garage and sit back down on landos side and pull out my phone as I still have a few minutes before qualifying starts and I use that time to text Lily
