Jeongyeon and Nayeon left the office together that evening. Nayeon didn't know what to say and Jeongyeon was confused about what will happen next. The car ride was silent except for the music from the radio and Taehyung's occasional questions.
Nayeon climbed out of the car once it came to a halt at her driveway. She turned around to say something to Jeongyeon, when Jeongyeon's phone rang.
Jeongyeon excused and took the call." Tzu...what is it ?" She asked, concerned.
"Oppa...when will you be home?" Tzu asked from the other side.
"I will be there in an hour. What is it baby?" Jeongyeon asked again.
"Chaeyoungie is not home." Tzuyu replied.
"Chae is not home yet? Okay. Oppa will be there in a few minutes okay. Go to Mama P." Jeongyeon instructed Tzuyu.
"Ne Oppa." She replied and disconnected the call.
Jeongyeon looked at Nayeon hesitantly.
"I...I. have to go. It's Tzuyu."
"Is she okay?" Nayeon asked worried.
"Yeah..Chae is not home yet..she is alone" Jeongyeon replied.
"Oh. Alright" Nayeon stood awkwardly at the stairs.
"Umm..we can talk another time?" Jeongyeon suggested unsure.
"Yeah...umm....sure." Nayeon nodded looking at Jeongyeon.
"Alright. I will go now." Jeongyeon waved awkwardly and walked back.
"Wait..." Nayeon suddenly called..
"Yeah.." Jeongyeon asked looking at her.
"Can you wait for a minute? I have something for you." Nayeon said to her and ran inside. Jeongyeon looked confused.
Nayeon came back with a brown and paper bag in her hand within few minutes. She handed it over to Jeongyeon.
"Here. This is for Tzuyu. Can you give this to her?" Nayeon asked curious.
"For Tzuyu?" Jeongyeon asked trying to make sure.
"Yea....you gave the wrong Tupperware to Heyjin yesterday....it was Tzuyu's lunch box." Nayeon tucked a hair behind her ears as she told Jeongyeon.
Jeongyeon almost dropped the paper bag. "What??"
"The Tupperware had Tzuyu's name on it. Only Tzuyu I know is your sister. And I know how my tteokbokki had been disappearing from the trash. " Nayeon casually stated smiling.
Jeongyeon couldn't reply. Her mouth opened and closed like a fish out of water.
"Go Jeongyeon. Tzuyu will be scared without her Oppa. And you don't have to say that it's from me. They probably hate me now. I am not angry just sad." Nayeon replied.
"They still love you Nayeon." Jeongyeon found the courage to speak.
"I know. I wish I could see them but I am not ready yet." Nayeon replied sadly.
"How did you know?" Jeongyeon asked finally.
"About the tteokbokki?I have been cooking tteokbokki for ten years Jeongyeon. I have thrown it in the trash every day for the first 5 years myself. Ever since Heyjin came into the house, I ask her to do it. But I never found it in the trash the next day or any other days. I was curious. I thought Heyjin ate it or gave it to her family. But yesterday I saw the Tupperware washed and stacked on the counter." Nayeon explained still smiling.
"I am sorry." Jeongyeon whispered looking down.
Nayeon walked closer to the soldier. Cupping her face she looked in the tear filled eyes.
