Theo excitedly ran over to Kim, Jerry, Eddie and Milton as a shy Mira trailed behind him. "Guys, guess who just won the district wide spelling bee."
"It's me." Mira told them awkwardly, holding up the baby-sized trophy of a bee. "And it's no big deal."
"No big deal? How can you say that, you won another trophy for the school!" Theo told her enthusiastically.
Mira huffed, tossing the trophy into the trash. "It's barely a trophy, and nobody even cares."
"That's not true, Mira. I think it's pretty cool that you won the spelling bee." Milton smiled. "You should be proud-"
That's when the principal and a bunch of students came by with Jack, who just won them a huge trophy for gymnastics.
Mira sulked as everyone completely ignored her except for Theo and Milton. "See? That's a real trophy."
"Hey guys, Mira just won the spelling-" Milton started.
"Show us the routine you did Jack!" Eddie talked over him.
Jack effortlessly did some flips, wowing the crowd as usual.
The crowd clapped as Jack turned to Mira with a grin. "So? What'd you think? You like me yet?"
"Jack I told you, I don't hate you..." Mira muttered awkwardly. "I'm just anxious around black belts. It's not personal."
"You'll come around." Jack winked, ignoring everything she just said.
Honestly, she didn't hate him. Jack had already proven himself to be a decent person. But that didn't change the fact that he was a black belt who could beat the snot out of anyone he felt like.
The principal got an extreme wedgie from Jerry, since Jack made a deal with him in exchange for winning him the trophy, making the entire crowd cheer.
The bell rang and everyone started to leave. "Milton, are you coming?" Jack asked.
Milton hesitated by the trashcan. "You guys get going, I'll catch up in a second."
They complied and headed for class.

As the group headed for the dojo, Milton was explaining that the janitor saved him from falling at school after he'd been on a ladder.
"All I know is that his nametag said Yoshi Nakamura." Milton explained.
Mira's eyebrows furrowed. "I don't understand, why were you on a ladder in the first place?'
Milton hesitated, looking sheepish. "Um...not important."
Rudy showed up outside the dojo, showing off some of the magic supplies he got from the magic shop that went out of business. He also announced that he would finally be getting storage space for all the junk lying around the dojo.
~~~
The next day at school, Milton decided to bring Yoshi a cake to say thank you for saving him. "See, when someone does something great like save a life...or win a spelling bee," He glared at the others, making Mira's eyes widened in surprise. "They should get some recognition."
They entered the janitor's closet and were shocked to find it filled with information about Yoshi, and how he used to be a sumo champion , with trophies and everything.
When they found Yoshi in the cafeteria, they asked him to do one of his sumo moves, which he did... and caused the principal to get his head covered in noodles when he shook the whole room.
It wouldn't have been such a big deal, if Milton kept his mouth shut. "This man used to be a hero, he doesn't even really need this job and he demands that you apologize to him right now."
"Really? Here's my apology, Nakamura. YOU'RE FIRED!" He shouted furiously before storming off, leaving them all horrified.
~~~
"I can't believe Milton would do something so foolish." Mira complained as she paced around the dojo.
Theo had a juice box he was slurping from. "Do you even know why he was on the ladder in the first place?" He asked through the straw.
Mira's eyebrows furrowed. "No, he never said."
"He was trying to put your trophy up there with the other ones. I think it bothers him that nobody else was proud of you." Theo explained.
Mira looked at him in awe. "...Why...would he do that?"
Theo shrugged. "Maybe cause he knows what it's like to have brains and have no one appreciate them."
Mira's eyes softened at that. And just then, Jack and Milton stepped into the dojo.
"Oh I told her about the trophy." Theo spoke without missing a beat.
Milton sputtered. "Theo that was a secret between bros!" He cried.
Theo blinked. "...Oh. You did not make that clear."
Sighing softly, Mira smiled at Milton. "Milton, that was really sweet...but you didn't have to do that for me."
"Sure I did. You're the dojo's medic and...you've bandaged me up more times than I can count." Milton explained simply, shoulders drooping. "I just...wanted to pay you back for once."
"Thank you." Mira told him sincerely. "Seriously."
Rudy came out of his office. "Guys, group meeting." They walked over to him. "Why is Weeping McHugie here?" Yoshi was sitting in the corner crying and eating Chinese takeout as well as pizza.
"Come on Rudy, the man's been through a lot." Milton insisted.
"He had 65 wins in a row and then a rookie came along and totally trashed him." Eddie added.
"Well fix it, once the food runs out we're gonna look tasty to that guy." Rudy warned them.
Jack's eyes suddenly sparkled as Rudy walked away. "Guys, I got an idea."
~~~
"Drink this." Mira demanded the moment Yoshi got back from running with Jack and Milton. They were training him for a match to get him his title back. Rudy was gonna all on an old buddy for Yoshi to have a match with in the dojo.
Jack cringed when he saw the container filled with some kind of green liquid. "...What is it?"
"As far as you're all concerned, a chocolate milkshake." Mira told him innocently, handing the drink to Yoshi.
Yoshi took a deep breath before downing the entire drink.
Milton gasped. "Nobodies ever gotten down one of Mira's energy brews before!"
"Oh come on, it's just a drink." Jack scoffed.
Mira raised an eyebrow, an amused smile forming on her lips. "Here, there was extra." She handed him a smaller container of the stuff.
Jack hesitated briefly before taking a sip of it.
In an instant he was gagging and on his knees, a broken shell of a boy..
"Yeah...you only make that mistake twice." Eddie sulked, making the others stare at him in pure judgement.
~~~
Rudy's buddy ended up being Yamazaki, the only person to ever defeat Yoshi in a match. But thankfully, with a little motivation from Milton and the others, he managed to take him on in battle and win. And since he managed to defeat Yamazaki, Yoshi decided to head back to Japan to continue his dream of being a sumo wrestler.
