Jack, Theo, Kim, Milton, Jerry and Mira were eating at Falafel Phil's. "Phil's new garlic falafel balls are disgusting." Jack scowled.
"I like 'em." Theo shrugged with a mouthful.
"That's cause you'll literally eat anything." Kim deadpanned.
Theo shrugged. "Hey, I have a mom who spends her spare time cooking but is shockingly bad at it, eventually your taste buds become numb."
Jack shook his head and looked at the girls. "So Mira, Kim, you guys coming with us to see the movie tomorrow?"
"What movie?" Kim asked.
"Attack of the killer Zompyres." Theo grinned.
Kim scoffed. "That's so lame. You guys should see the Horse Tamer."
"Oooh, that is a good one." Mira beamed. "It's about this 19 year old boy who sells his shirt to save a crippled horse!"
"...Just hearing those words makes me feel like less of a man." Jack deadpanned.
Theo pouted. "Come on Kim, Mira, see Zompyres with us!" He whined.
"Hey, we could go together! Me and Mira and you and Theo." Jack beamed.
Theo gasped. "That's an awesome idea! We can get candy and popcorn and mix them together to make some weird combo." He explained excitedly.
But Kim and Mira were still stuck on the whole 'together' part.
"Together?" Mira squeaked. "As in...together?"
"Well, I'll be there and you'll be there and we'll sit next to each other so...yeah?" Jack confirmed, a bit confused.
Kim grinned. "Okay I'm in."
"Me too." Mira shyly agreed.
Just then, Eddie walked in wearing his explorer scout outfit. "Hey guys, know what my new patch means?"
"You crossed the street by yourself?" Theo asked.
"No." Eddie huffed. "It means I'm the leader of my troop."
"Aren't you the only-" Jerry started.
"LEADER OF MY TROOP!" Eddie snapped.
Jack blinked. "Uh, great. So, you coming to see Zompyres with us?"
"Are you nuts? I looked at the trailer for that thing and I spent two days hiding in my mother's hamper." Eddie snapped.
Mira began to sweat. "R-Really?"
"You're not scared, are you?" Jack teased.
Theo grinned. "Mira hates horror movies."
"I do not!" Mira protested in embarrassment. "They're just...not my preference."
Jack snorted. "Don't worry princess, I think I'll be able to protect you from the big screen."
Mira's face grew warm at the old nickname. "S-S-S-Sure..." Her voice jumped an octave.

"I finally finished my science fair project, it's a light refractometer." Milton explained proudly at school, holding the device.
Mira smiled. "That's really cool Milton. I made something like that last year."
"Really?" Milton frowned. "Aw Christmas nuts, I was hoping to get some points for originality." He sulked.
Mira smiled sheepishly.
Just then, Lindsay walked by and sneered. "Mira." She mocked.
"...What was that?" Milton questioned in disbelief.
