Late post again. But it's here now. :j

"I'm such an idiot," Minho muttered, although everyone except Yeosang had chosen a person who was important to them. Sure, Minho had picked three people to get electrocuted instead of him, but he couldn't have known.

Sunghoon regretted his choice, too. He looked at me apologetically.

"I shouldn't have picked you."

"It's okay. None of us knew this would happen."

Sunghoon scratched the back of his head.

"Does this mean I'll never get electrocuted since no one picked me?"

"Hopefully, yeah."

Sunghoon and Yeosang were safe since they hadn't been mentioned.

Yeosang had the best situation. He had guessed that the kidnappers had planned something twisted regarding the people we chose as the most important to us, so he had strategically named the person he disliked the most.

Yeosang truly was peculiar. He looked sweet and innocent like a little Maltese dog that didn't have much going on in the brain area, but inside, he was a cunning Doberman.

The plague doctor continued hosting the show.

"Now that we have settled the tasing system, we will start with the first activity, Truth or Dare. Only it's always truth until you lie."

Numbers appeared on the screen that displayed our close-up frames. Next to each of our faces, there was a two or three-digit number, followed by three letters. Mine said 102. I squinted to discern the letters.

BPM.

Beats per minute.

The belt Jungkook had tried to remove earlier was a heart rate monitor after all. It was the tight thing around my upper abdomen that I had mistaken for an issue with my bra.

But, wow... 102 was a high heart rate for someone just standing.

Everyone's BPM was above the typical rest rate. Hongjoong's number surpassed mine as the plague doctor called him by name.

"Hongjoong, face this way. I'll ask you first."

Hongjoong turned around so that he couldn't see the screen with the BPMs but could see the other one behind the kidnapper.

"How much money does a leader of a rising 4th gen K-pop group make in a year? I'm sure everyone wants to know," the plague doctor asked.

Hongjoong raised his eyebrows. It was not a typical question for idols; they were likely trained to avoid such topics.

"Uhmm.... It has varied every year."

He glanced at Yunho, reminding himself who would suffer if he refused to answer.

"Last year, we did better than before that. I earned about 90 million won."

The Korean currency was a nuisance. It always sounded absurd when a cashier asked for a couple of thousand for a mere bottle of soda. I wasn't the best at math, but 90 million won was about 70,000 US dollars. I thought Hongjoong would have earned more than that. However, Ateez had debuted from a small company only a couple of years ago, so it made sense that he wasn't among the richest. Not even close. To my knowledge, his income was close to the average annual salary in the US but likely double the average in South Korea.

He was about to make much more this year, though, since Ateez had gained popularity lately. Even before the abduction, their most recent album, "Zero: Fever Part. 2," had sold well.
