I had to share us into 'rooms.' By 'rooms,' the kidnapper meant a structure that descended over the pool, dividing it into three sections, resembling a colossal lunch box with compartments for various items. He explained that each section contained a bathroom, accessible if we requested the kidnappers to open the door.

Yeosang pursed his lips.

"There is one too many people. I can sleep somewhere in between. Like in a bathroom."

I furrowed my brow.

"What are you talking about? He never said there should be exactly three people in each room. He said at least three people."

"Yeah... but you never know what will happen to the extra person."

Yeosang was losing his grip on his cleverness. I doubted anything would happen except people sweating and freezing all night.

And I had to choose who would endure the heat and who cold.

One thing was sure. Hari needed to be separated from certain people, mainly Minho and Jungkook. Minho could barely look at her, and Jungkook said he could go to any room as long as Hari wasn't there.

Hari and challenging sleeping conditions didn't go together. She would have kept everyone awake with complaints. Therefore, I assigned her to the neutral room with Bang Chan, Yunho, and Yeosang. They seemed to handle her the best. Besides, Yeosang could always threaten to remove his microphone if Hari didn't behave. He probably wouldn't have done that, though.

Anyway, it was fair since everyone had to deal with something unpleasant, whether it was Hari or harsh room temperature.

Hongjoong and Han said they got easily cold, so I assigned them to the hot room.

That left me, Sunghoon, Minho, and Jungkook.

I preferred sleeping in low temperatures, so I chose to stay in the cold room.

Since keeping warm required close contact with the others in that room, I picked Sunghoon and Minho with me. They were the only two people I felt comfortable hugging all night.

Coincidentally, Jungkook had to go to the hot room because I couldn't imagine sleeping wrapped around his body.

A wave of cold air blew on me immediately after the walls lowered, and Minho, Sunghoon, and I were left alone in our compartment.

Minho hugged himself.

"It's gonna be a long night...."

Sunghoon walked to the wall that separated us from the hot room. He pressed the back of his fingers on the wall and knelt to touch the floor.

"I think we should sleep close to this wall. Some of their heat must leak through."

He was right. The floor there wasn't as icy as in the other parts of the room. However, the tiles still offered an unpleasant surface for sleeping, and the air got colder as we spoke.

"We should stay close to each other to keep warm," I said because we were all thinking about it but didn't dare initiate a touch.

Sunghoon shifted closer to me, wrapping his arm around me. His palm rested on the side of my stomach. I hugged him back to save most of our body heat. Also, I wanted to feel his familiar frame and sink into his safe embrace.

Minho drew closer from the other side, trapping me between him and Sunghoon.

In contrast to Sunghoon, Minho kept his arms tucked near his body without cuddling me. However, he inched so close that his breath tickled my neck. I could feel him shiver against my back.
