Inez

I tried to sleep But it was to no use. I laid on the couch under the covers as I watched the sun coming up in the morning. I just stared at the star for an hour before deciding to get on with my day. I just have work scheduled for the afternoon until then I decided to go to my favorite coffee shop after a shower.

as I stepped in to the small cozy cafe decorated with a few plants and green walls the bell from the door ringed.

"Inez honey is that you?" A voice from the back room shouted. I giggled as mrs. Hanington walked out with white paint in her hair.

"Hi, miss. How are you today?" I asked.

"Oh just peachy, I'm coloring the other room" she said with a big smile.

"Do you need any help? I don't have anything on my schedule for now."

"Oh no honey, it's okay. You look rough though. Did something happened?" I sighed thinking if I was going to tell mrs. hanington what happened. We've known eachother since the month I moved here. Finding her business was the highlight of my move and I've visited everyday since.

" do you got a minute?" I asked and pointed to a table. She nodded with a smile and got us some coffee. The coffee shop only had one other customer for the moment so I decided to tell mrs.Hanington the truth.

She listened carefully to every word I said as we drank our coffees.
"I'm so sorry dear but I gotta tell you I warned you about that fella!" she said with a raised eyebrow. I sighed trying not to cry thinking about the other night.

"I don't know what to do mrs.Hanington. I moved out here with him. I have nothing without him, no friends, no family" I said looking down at my coffee.

"Honey. You are your own person. You have your own dreams to achieve. And what better place then New York!" She said with a smile. I smiled back at her " I know it can be scary, being on your own but it's always better to be alone then with the wrong person" she added. I nodded along.

"Anyways how's the song writing going?" She said nodding at my guitar. I sighed once again.

"The people I'm trying to sign with wants me to write a love song. I've got nothing" I said.

"Hey you said it yourself, you've got nothing going on for today why don't you practice here? I know I would love to hear your music" she said with a warm smile.

"Thanks" I smiled back as she walked back to continue to paint. I sighed and got out my papers and guitar.

I must've sat in the cafe for hours practicing the notes in the guitar. All of the sudden a person tapped on the table I was sitting on. I looked up to see a beautiful man with dark features. He had olive skin with black eyes that could pierce a soul. His hair was slicked back, black hair with a blue streak going through it. He had a grey suit on but you could see his snake tatto going up his neck.
