"Fire and ice,
shaking hands is the last thing
they'll do!"Inez
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~As cora stood in front of me with her smirk I covered my neck with my hand with a nervous laughter.
"Yeah..about that.." I said before somebody knocked on the door again. I opened it to see Arlo outside.
"Hey, I got the pill" he said handing it to me. I quickly grabbed it and didn't let him come inside.
"Hey, how about I call you later, I kind of have company" I said nodding behind the door. He nodded a bit disappointed while I gave him my number. After closing the door I took the pill with a glass of water and sighed out in relief.
"Who was that?" Cora said with a frown on her face on the couch.
"Just a friend I met last night" I said walking over and sitting down next to her. She crossed her arms.
" a male friend?" She said teasingly. I sighed knowing I have to tell her about Ambrose.
"I did it Cora, the night you left. I told him how I felt and a part of me thought he did too"
"So what happened"
"I spent the night" I said before Cora giggled in excitement. "But when I woke up he was gone. Leaving me a freaking note saying he 'don't do relationships'. I'm not running after someone who's running away from me" I said looking down at my pants.
"That asshole! He slept with you just to sneak out before you woke up?" She said with fire in her eyes. I nodded.
"I swear I'm not the kind of girl to sleep around but it was three months ago, Arlo was the first" I said defending myself to Cora. She giggled again.
"Honey you don't have to explain yourself to me, I totally get it" she said. I smiled gently at her before relaxing on the couch.
"I just don't know what to do, I'm not in love with Ambrose but I keep having him on my mind"
"Well you didn't seem to have him too much on your mind last night" she giggled pointing at my neck again. " how about I take you out tonight?" She said.
"I got to work tonight"
"Oh don't worry about work, I'll take care of that" she said winking at me. I raised an eyebrow but she changed the subject before I got to ask.
" so how's it going with your music?" She asked. I sighed once again.
"Well, my guitar skills have been going better and I get to play a few gigs at a coffee shop, but still nothing major yet" I said.
"Hold your head high, something good is coming your way" she smiled. Oh what I've missed my friend.
A few hours later I get a text from Cora saying she's here in fifteen. I put on a peachy toned dress that fit my curves just right and let my wavy hair down for once. I put on my strapped heel before grabbing my purse and walked to the elevator. As I saw Cora's white car pulling up I opened the passenger seat and got in.
