This chapter is going to be based off of the new book that I'm writing that will hopefully come out someday. This is less of a romantic chapter but I still kinda like it tbh

Setting/Background: You are on top of the wall with Reiner, Eren, and Bertholdt as they reveal their identity after a traumatic and confusing fight.

It almost seemed too silent as you stood on top of the wall, overlooking the battlefield. You had a slight shake in your legs, still shocked from moments before. And just like you had earlier, you grabbed Reiners hand in an attempt to ground yourself. And he held it tight.

Though, like the day Trost fell, he had that same faraway look in his eyes. But now, you knew it wasn't fear.

He let out a heavy breath as another gust of blew past you. The sound of the flags whipping and the dust scraping against your legs was almost calming. Like it was the last bit of peace you'd feel in forever.

And he held you tighter.

Eren tried to walk away, but the two boys stopped him. Mikasa looked back, almost like a warning.

"Wait, we need to talk to you," Reiner said in a warning tone. He let you go, grabbing Erens wrist, showing it wasn't just a suggestion.

"Five years ago, Bertholdt and I compromised wall Maria and launched an attack on humanity."

You took a step back, and Reiner looked right at you.

"I'm the armoured titan, and he'd the colossal titan."

"What are you talking about?" you said, a nervous smile peaking out from the corner of your lips. While Bertholdt urged him to stop, Reiner kept explaining.

"We were on a mission to ensure mankinds extinction, now there's no need for that. Eren, if you want the walls to remain standing, it's simple, just come with Bertholdt and me, do you understand?"

Your eyes widened as you looked back at Mikasa, and she seemed to know almost instantly what was going on. Still, she hesitated, because no one would ever belive what they had just told you.

"Understand? What the hell is there to understand!" Eren questioned.

"Listen to me. I need you to do exactly as I say."

Eren clamped his hand on Reiners soldier, saying "You're just tired, that's it right? Help me out here Bertholdt, your nerves are shot, you don' know what you're saying."

"Y-yeah, it's the battle fatigue talking!" Bertholdt revelated. You looked at Reiner, searching his sould for the truth. But he really did belive what he was saying.

"If you really were the armored titan, what's the endgame here? We wouldn't be having this conversation int he first place. What'd you expect? For me to just let myself be kidnapped because you asked nicely?"

Reiner gave a look of absolute shock. "Right, not thinking straight am I," he muttered, wide eyed as the ground. "Bareley know what i'm saying here."

Reiner was physically there, but his eyes showed he was somewhere else, maybe he was never even there to begin with. As the seconds ticked by, it became apparent that the distant look in his eyes was not a fleeting moment of distraction but a persistent detachment from reality. His gaze fixated on an unseen horizon, lost in the labyrinth of his own thoughts. The lines on his forehead deepened, and a subtle tremor betrayed the internal turbulence that gripped his psyche. It was a look showing the unraveling and entagelment of his mind. He was no longer able to differenciate reality from delusion, his soul teetering on the precipice of sanity.

"Must have gone off the deep end. That's the problem," he said, the flag breaking off it's post echoed down the wall, drawing everyones attention to the scene. "I've been here too long for my own good. Three years of this madness. Surrounded by idiots. We were kids, what did we know about anything. Why did there have to be people like this. Why? Why did I let myself devolve, into such a half assed peice of shit!? It's too late now! Damned if I know what's right anymore! Who cares, it is what it is. No choice but to face what i've done as a warrior. No road left but the one that leads to the end!"

Reiner took off his sling, revealing his steaming injured arm.

"Reiner! Right now!?" Bertholdt yelled. You took another step back, now knowing for sure that this was the end. Any love you thought he had in his eyes for you, any hope in your soul was gone.
