Amy was zoned out. She blankly stared at the drink in her hand feeling overwhelmed. She almost saw him again. Though it's been over four years, she wasn't ready. How would she even react?
Not to mention that she had her niece and nephew with her and she couldn't risk them witnessing anything or putting them in any sort of danger. The only thing on her mind at that moment was to get them to safety.
But she knew she couldn't avoid him forever even though she was trying but she never had a plan for whenever she would see him and she blamed herself for that.
Then there was Sonic, the reason why Elias was able to get so close to her in the first place but he had no knowledge of it. She wanted to keep him safe, along with everyone else. She didn't know what Elias would do if he found out that she talked but she did know one thing.... She was terrified.
"Amy?"
Blaze brought Amy back to reality.
"Huh?"
"Are you alright? You seem a bit distracted."
Amy hadn't realized how long she'd been sitting so quietly, she looked back as she heard Emi's giggles and saw Silver playing with her and Crimson, she smiled before looking back at Blaze. "Yeah, I guess I've been too stressed out, nothing to worry about." She tried to wave off but Blaze looked all over her face and could sense something was wrong.
"What's stressing you out?"
"Oh... uh, just work and stuff..." Amy shifted her eyes away to avoid any eye contact.
"Come on Amy, I know that's not all, you can tell me."
"It's nothing, Blaze, really." Amy tried to wave off again with a nervous smile. Blaze looked at her with suspicion but then just sighed. "Alright, you don't need to tell me if you don't want to..."
Amy was relieved to have that subject changed, wanting to not think about anything related to Elias. She didn't want to think about anything really.
Until...
"So, any plans for tonight?"
Amy flinched and had a nervous blush. 'That's right, Shadow's coming home tonight!' She felt both excited and nervous.
"Um... I'm having dinner with a friend." She took a sip of her drink but Blaze noticed her
blushed face and smirked. "Oh? And who's is this friend?"
Amy noticed her smirk. "Oh come on, it's not like that, this dinner is more of an apology dinner."
"An apology? For what?" Blaze asked curiously.
"Well, me and him-"
"-Him?" Blaze smirked again making Amy roll her eyes. "Anyways, we got into an argument and we haven't seen or even spoken to each other in a month and I'm starting to think that I may have had an overreaction."
"Oh wow, a whole month? And what makes you think you've overreacted? What did you guys argue about?"
"Uh... well... umm...." Amy tried to think of good answers to her questions. "Well... he got into an argument with Rob when he was in town which resulted in a physical fight and with me not talking to either of them for a while. I just worked things out with Rob but not with my friend."
Blaze was surprised to hear this. "Oh my, they got physical? What was this argument about?"
Amy sighed. "It was childish really, Rob called him a name and kept it going but he wasn't the one who threw the first punch and then Rob tried to forbid me from seeing him again."
