The Confusing Thing About Relationships

It was one a.m, Rouge and Knuckles were peacefully sleeping until Rouge woke up to slight pain and wetness coming out of her lower half. Once she realized what was happening she tried to wake up her husband who was still sleeping next to her.

"Knuckles!" She nudged him but he gave no reaction.

"Knuckles wake up!" She shook his arm.

"Hm" he sleepily answered, still not wanting to wake up.

"KNUCKLES WAKE UP MY WATER JUST BROKE!"

And with that Knuckles was now fully awake and jumped out of bed in a panic.

"Oh shit! So soon?! Okay, what do we need to do?"

"First, help me out the bed and into the car, then pack an overnight bag for the hospital"

"Alright"

But instead of just helping her off the bed, he simply picked her up and helped her into the car. But once she was seated she turned to him"

"Wait, what about Emi? She's still asleep "

"Shit you're right," the two thought for a moment before Knuckles spoke up.

"...Amy! I'll call Amy to watch over her for a bit"

"Alright, hopefully, she's awake"

As Knuckles went back inside to gather a few things he was trying to call Amy.

'Damnit Sonic, I should've known you would bring trouble'

"Mm... Knuckles?" Amy answered clearly just had been woken up by his calls.

"Amy, I need a huge favor, Rouge's water just broke and we're on our way to the hospital and we were wondering if you could come watch Emi for a bit"

"Oh my gosh! Of course, I'll watch her for you guys, I'll be there in a bit and congratulations."

"Thanks sis, you're the best" he hung up shortly after that and continued to pack some stuff before heading into Emi's room.

He lightly shook her to wake her up.

"Mm, daddy?" She answered in a daze.

"Hey sweetie, me and mommy are going to the hospital right now and your aunt Amy is going be here in a little bit so I need you on your best behavior, okay?

"Okay...I will" she yawned as she went back to sleep fairly quickly.

Knuckles smiled before kissing Emi's forehead and leaving.

Shadow was still awake, unable to sleep, but he could hear some shuffling around in the room he was currently kicked out of.

'Is she awake?'

Then the bedroom door opened and he saw Amy step out, holding a duffel bag, and it made Shadow a bit uneasy.

'Is she leaving? I know I made her mad but that wouldn't make her want to move out, right?'

Shadow closed his eyes and pretended to be asleep once he noticed Amy walking closer to him.

"Hey Shadow..." she kneeled down to him and gently shook his arm.

'Okay, she doesn't sound mad, but where is she going?'

Shadow acted as if he was waking up. "Hm?"

"I have to go watch Emi for a bit, I just wanted to let you know, you can stop by at the bakery for some breakfast."

Shadow then seated himself up, a bit relieved that she wasn't planning on leaving. "I'm guessing Rouge is having the baby"

"Yea isn't it exciting!"
