*Celosia Robin Douglas's POV*:
My ears were ringing so loud I couldn't hear anything around me. I was so discombobulated I could only voice out a moan. I wasn't sure how long I was knocked out on the ground for. I was laying on my back, moving each body part, making sure my limbs still worked.
I opened my eyes slowly, my vision blurry. I turned my head to the left. What I could make out was a few FEMA cars driving back into the prison, followed by a black car. But it was like everything moved in slow motion.
I turned my head downward. The bushes were on fire. Smoke filled the air. As my vision cleared I could see some other plants from afar were on fire too.
Bodies were everywhere.
Thankfully, I was able to get myself off the ground, sitting upright. My ears were still ringing but way less.
Suddenly, I heard a male voice coughing.
I turned my head to the right. It was Beval, slowly getting up off the ground as well. He looked up at me, panting, his bangs covering his purple eyes.
Both of us looked at Gaia, whom was five feet away, lying there.
Before I could panic and run to her, she began to move as she scrunched her face, whimpering. She was hurt, a bloody bruise was on her arm.
"Gaia!!", Beval shouted after spotting her. He rushed over and held her. After calling her name a few more times, each getting louder and urgent, she opened her eyes and looked up at him.
"I-I'm okay...", she voiced out. Her usual sweet voice was raspy this time.
Beval began to thank the heavens as he kissed onto her forehead, holding her in his arms.
She coughed before wincing in pain as she tried to move her right arm.
Beval glanced at it, then back at her.
"It's okay, we will get Katie to bandage it up."
My eyes guided over to Kimberly. She was ten feet away. Lying still.
For moments I waited. I waited for her to get up, but she didn't. It was still smokey so I couldn't see a clear view of her.
"K-Kim?", I called out to her as loud as I could.
Nothing.
I grunted as I slowly got myself to my feet and took one step at a time over to her. When I was near enough I stopped in my tracks as my heart skipped a beat.
She was lying on her back, but her legs were blown off. Her eyes were fixed on the night sky above as her mouth was semi-opened. Blood was all under where her legs were supposed to be. Her skin was a whiteish-gray color.
She was dead.
"No...", I whispered to myself, falling to my knees, examining any signs of life. There was none.
"No...No...NOOOO!", I wailed, shaking her as tears streaming down like a waterfall. "KIMBERLY! NOOOOOO! OH GOD NOO!"
"OH MY GOD! KIMBERLY!", I heard Gaia cry out as she and Beval ran over. After examining the body, she sat down and held onto me, crying with me. I picked Kimberly up and hugged her tightly. She was limp in my arms, eyes eternally gazing at the night sky.
I howled out, crying for my other best friend to come back to me. To come back to us.
She saved my life. She saved me from dying by missile, which landed several feet from her, and yet still managed to killed her but only knock us out.
