Chapter 3

.:.Althea’s POV.:.
“I seriously gotta remember to put sunscreen on before I go to the beach next time…” I trailed off. I poked at my cheeks as I peered at my reflection in the mirror. They were a slight red, and I winced as I touched it.
The door rang, catching my attention.
Who in the hell would that be? I asked myself. No one know where I am. I mean besides those boys from last night. But it’s not like they would come back. I didn’t even know them all that well. And they probably didn’t even remember where I lived. So I ruled them out.
Anxiously, I twisted the door unlocked, and pulled it open, revealing an excited Emmy. How unexpected. I didn’t think she’d even come over.
“I got your text, but I thought I’d drop by instead, you know, seeing how you’re treating the ol’ place.” She gave me a wink as she plopped onto the bed.
“I’ve been here less than twenty-four hours Em…” I laughed at her statement. She was always the sarcastic type, but that’s what I loved about my best friend.
“It’s been way too long!” She stood from her spot and enclosed me in a tight bear hug.
“C- Can’t breaaaath!” I managed to say.
“Let’s hang the rest of the day?” She smiled, a brow raised as she awaited my answer.
“Let’s!” I smiled as she linked arms. I shut the door behind us and we were off.

I sat in a booth across from Emmie. We’d decided on eating lunch by the pier since it was a nice day out.
“You’re going to have to enroll sometime you do know that. You can’t just sit around and do nothing.” She said in a motherly tone.
“Yes Mother.” I replied. I laughed as she gave me an odd, displeasing look.
“Okay good.” She said giving me a thumbs up before stuffing her face with the last of her fries.
“But it’s summer, and I want to fully enjoy it, so I’ll attend in the fall or something.”
“I guess it’s better than nothing.” Em shrugged her shoulders and her attention was brought to the window.
"Exactly. Oh. Okay, so I was at the beach earlier, and even though I wasn't paying attention to who it was, I bumped into someone," I paused, trying to reword my thoughts, "Actually someone bumped into me. I don't know way but for some reason, they felt familiar. Like, it's weird to explain."
"You've only been here a couple of days now. Who would you know out here?" She laughed. I just shrugged it off and never answered her question, which gladly she did not wait an answer for.
.:.Wesley’s POV.:.
“Man, forget about her. I don’t know if you will see her again. It’s just one girl! There are hundreds out there, and plus... You have a girlfriend.” He paused, “ Unless I get to her first...” Drew gave a wink as he joked. I threw the couch pillow at his face.
"Hey, she was cute." He admitted, laughing as he ran a hand through his hair.
What he said was true, though. I did have Carly. She was my girlfriend and I know that.
