Chapter 17

.:.Althea's POV.:.
He pulled away, his hand caressing my cheek before leaving one last kiss to my cheek. His fingers brushed a piece of my hair behind my ear before he withdrew his presence from me. He ran through the door, revving the engine before disappearing down the road.
I was curious as to who he had talked to on the phone earlier. After the phone call, his whole attitude change. Not just for that moment. The rest of the night before he left, he acted so differently, like something was bothering him.
I decided for now I'd leave it alone, considering he would probably need space. And besides, I knew he was the kind of person to talk to anyone if he had a problem. I was going to see him tomorrow so hopefully he'd be better.
I walked back to the bed, slipping into the soft confines of my freshly washed sheets, inhaling the floral scent the detergent left behind.
.:.Wesley's POV.:.
My hand traveled up her side. I pressed sweet kisses across her jawline, her neck and below her neck, in the middle of her collar bones. She hung her head back in pleasure, grasping at my hair and lightly tugged at it.
She met my eyes, before I leaned in for another kiss, when my phone rang in the middle of our heated moment. At a time like this, I wish I'd put it on Silent. Before our lips even touched, a huff fell from my mouth as I sat up on the mattress. She layed on her front, propped on her elbows studying me.
I stood up, holding the phone up to my ear.
"You'd better listen to me," Viv said hastily, pausing before she continued, "I know you remember we have a past. If you don't want your little girl toy to hear it from me, I suggest you meet me at the pier."
"What the hell I'm not going to leave her, I just got here."
I'd listened to the voice recognizing who it was. As I was about to speak, I peered over at Althea from the corner or my eyes. She was fiddling with her hair as she waited for me to finish.
"Maybe I'll have to dial her up and tell her now." She bit back at my hesitation.
"No, fine. Fine. I'll be there." I said as quietly as possible, careful that Althea wouldn't hear. I hung up the phone, now furious. Who did this chick think she was?
My hand clenched into a fist as I bit back from swearing. Her gentle touch to my wrist calmed me. I turned to her.
"Is everything alright?" She questioned, her hand squeezing in reassurance. I struggled to smile.
"I have to, uh, take care of some things. Is it okay if I just see you tomorrow?" I said.
"Of course. I understand." She walked with me to the door as I slipped back into my shoes before pulling on my jacket she handed me.
"I'll see you tomorrow." She said to me in a hushed tone, her hand resting on my shoulder as she leaned close to me. My hands slipped under the fabric of her shirt, resting on her lower back, my hands caressing her soft, warm skin. I brought her closer to me, my lips moving needily with hers. I needed her more than anything. I couldn't lose her. It would hurt me too much.
I pulled away, my hand brushing her cheek before I kissed her cheek. I moved a piece of hair behind her ear before I stepped back and walked out the door. I got into the car, inserting the key into the ignition before I backed out down the driveway.
