Chapter 22

He stepped a few feet before us, his expression hard and stern. He chuckled, vibration visible under his chest before the clever smirk that once etched his lips, were erased.
"Go horseplay outside boys." He said roughly, nodding his head towaards the exit. Drew basically threw the bag of candy back at Keaton while trying to hold in his laughter. Keaton bit into his gummy worms while a mischievous smile appeared on his face before he giggled.
"You guys are so immature I swear!" I slapped Drew's toned arm, earning a belt of laughter.
"Well I mean he took candy from a baby." Keaton blurted jokingly.
"Shuttup Baby Keats." Wes laughed. His arm slung over my shoulder as we walked back to the car.
"So what are doing the rest of the day, we still have plenty of time!" Drew said as the engine roared to life. He grabbed a few pieces from Keaton's candy before turning to us for an answer.
"I kind of want to do a little bit of shopping around the beach. They have some cute little things I always see on tumblr." I suggested, excited that I finally got to go looks at stuff.
"Of course you do." Keaton crinkled his nose, unamused by the idea of shopping. I shook my head and laughed at him before he turned to the windshield.
"You don't have to tag along, you can just drop us off and come back for us if you want to go somewhere else." Wes suggested.
"Sure. I might rent a board and go surf a bit. Do we have wetsuits in the back?" Keaton asked curiously.
"When don't we?" Drew sarcastically remarked.
"Sounds good to me." I agreed.
Like planned, we were dropped of by the beach. I walked down the pavement, followed by Wesley, his hand in mine.
"Do you see anything you like?" Wesley asked me, letting go of my hand before tinkering with the trinkets and gadgets on a table.
"Sorry." I apologized as I bumped into someone who turned around. She smiled politely before turning to look at sunglasses.
"Not yet, why?" I asked him. He looked at me intently, searching for expression. I rolled my eyes at him, knowing he wanted to buy me something I wanted.
"You aren't buying me anything." I sternly informed him. I walked over to a stand with penny boards and skate boards and Wesley could tell that my eyes lit up within a second.
"I should have brought my skateboard." I admitted.
"Come on, let's rent one for a bit then." I nodded in agreement as he grabbed a pastel penny and handed the man his card.
I stepped onto the board, Wesley's hand in mine. I barely had to step foot on the ground as Wes would pull me along the walkway.
I stopped at a stand and bought a bottle of water, gulping almost half of it.
"Whoah, save water for the fish." He joked. I rolled my eyes, taking one more sip before twisting the cap back on.
"Wait stop." I said, picking up the board and walking to a stand that had quilted-like patterned bags. I remember growing up as a kid, I would see people with these bags. They had designs like peace sings and I remember always wanting one.
"You like that huh?" He said, getting his wallet ready. Good thing my money was in my pocket.
"Thank you honey." The woman said as I handed her my cash.
